I feel that lately there has been a trend of threads consisting of questions regarding a genre or label concerning a band, and these threads have turned into endless debates with asinine comments that are honestly quite disturbing and uncalled for... We are all here to enjoy this forum and if every thread starts off with a response like "No, you fucking douchebag, thats not the way it is", its a little degrading.. Nobody here is better than anyone else, so please leave your elitist attitudes behind.. The way a band portays itself is your personal interpretation and thats the appreciation of music... You dont listen to a band because someone ELSE likes it, you listen to what means most to you... Im tired of locking threads because someone takes it a step too far... It wont be tolerated... It's not like metal has went from Black Sabbath to Linkin Park, because Linkin Park doesn't share anything in common with Black Sabbath. I don't understand the uptightness that some people have against labels and genre-titling and so forth. I agree that it can be and in many cases it IS taken too far. But it's sometimes necessary for us to group are music for organizational sake.

Misery Signals, Fordirelifesake are two bands I like, Funeral for a Friend is one of my favourite bands, whatever they are. I don't just listen to pop-punk, so don't even make me list all the bands that I like, because they aren't all pop-punk bands.

I totally agree with you here .. just because we like pop punk doesn't mean that its what we listen to 24/7 dipshit. I happen to like most of the same stuff and still listen to other types of music. I'm not all for hardcore, but i'll listen to it.
