alright, i'm going to work in 30 and i'll probably be there till 1 est. Dallas's pick is i think 5 picks ahead, but all the guys picking are on a lot and it could be a matter of hours before i'm up, so if that happens i'll give whoever wants the cowboys second pick up. i'd like to be here to play with it but you gotta do what you gotta do i guess.

just make the pick when you get home.

xbrokendownx

yeah keith rivers wont be around right now. a team would have moved up 12-14 picks ago to grab him if he was still around.

killa sent me his pick for the 49ers, but hes going to be back around 3 so i'll just let him do it.

mcfly21
04/09/08, 10:42 AM
shh dont let anyone remember

Scott Weber
04/09/08, 10:43 AM
i almost took Rivers, but I think the Hawks are set with Hill and Tatupu and will pay accordingly to keep that LB core together.

kshtoinks12
04/09/08, 10:44 AM
realizing the raiders barelyhave any picks this draft, I'm even more happy with my choice. You can't waste your only real chance to upgrade on a position you don't really have a hole at

LeftWideOpen
04/09/08, 10:45 AM
yeah Glenn Dorsey is a smart pick for Oakland.

which is exactly why it wont happen.

livethesounds
04/09/08, 10:45 AM
i thought a lot about drafting Rivers, and i can think of plenty of reasons why i should have, but i think Dallas would probably still go for the skill position players first. There was so much talk about moving up for a running back, it would be weird if they didn't even draft one in the first round.

That is exactly who I assume Dallas will go for unless they make a trade for McFadden. Jerry Jones loves them Arkansas players.

Jones cannot afford McFadden.

packers are up.

selftitled85
04/09/08, 01:00 PM
If the poster for the Packers picks around 5...I will not be able to select until around 1030 (possibly). I get out of work at 5-530 and I have class at 720 but I generally like to get dinner first and its a 40 min commute to work so I may not get to a comp in time. But just in case, I am sorry and I will pick when I get home around 1030.

by the way, i pray to god that Gosder doesnt wind up on that team of thugs. he deserves better than to be surrounded by such trash.

04/09/08, 03:49 PM
Would it be a bad idea to discuss people who we are thinking about drafting?

Killadelphia
04/09/08, 04:03 PM
No it isn't a bad idea because we can't trade up.

airik625
04/09/08, 04:05 PM
Damnit, Kenny Philips was already taken. I was planning on taking him in the 2nd rd (Saints #40). Maybe I can get luck and Keith Rivers is still available (unless he's already taken). But, I highly doubt he'll still be on the board.

Keith Rivers will not go past the Giants, at least he shouldn't.

Phillips is a first round pick for sure.

Chris M.
04/09/08, 04:15 PM
If this was the real NFL draft, Keith Rivers would already be off the board. No way is he around in the second round. I've actually seen a lot of mock drafts that have Rivers going to the Saints in the first round.

Killadelphia
04/09/08, 04:18 PM
well yeah of course.

airik625
04/09/08, 04:24 PM
Very possible. Still think we should draft a CB first round, unless Ellis is still around.

Killadelphia
04/09/08, 04:27 PM
Saints will draft Rivers or trade down.

airik625
04/09/08, 04:36 PM
I hope they trade down and get Ellis or Dorsey. And maybe go after Arizona's Antoine Cason in the 2nd round (assuming all other top CBs are taken).

LeftWideOpen

by "trade down", he meant trade for later picks.

Saints could always draft Trevor Laws, though it'd be about a 10 pick reach in the second round.

04/10/08, 06:02 AM
I did both Green Bay and my original pick for the Giants.

selftitled85
04/10/08, 06:05 AM
I had to do a quadruple take to make sure that Keith Rivers was truly not selected until my pick at 31. I honestly believe the Giants will go with either Connor or Mayo or Phillips. Rivers should be long gone.

I do not agree with your pick one bit...Cason is still on the board and I think he has a much higher ceiling than Flowers and is a much more physical DB than Flowers.

xbrokendownx
04/10/08, 09:49 AM
eh i dunno. i watched a lot of VTech this year because one of my best friends goes there and i liked Flowers a lot. i havent seen Cason play much so

Oh Flowers is a good pick. I just think Cason would just fit Miami better. They need a shutdown corner. They havent had one since Madison left. Oh well. I saw Flowers and he is good so it still works.

By the way...I am on a James Madison University alumni softball team. Our first game is tonight against Villanova. Supposedly they are one of the frontrunners to win. I plan on making them see purple gold woooo!

Since DC has people from all over the country living/working there...someone came up with an alumni softball league. it is brilliant if you ask me. Each team brings beer and then they play softball.

i have flowers as the 4th overall cb. he was my backup pick at 23 if albert would have been gone.

this year is so damn deep at cb it's ridiculous.

I don't know. The DB is so deep in this draft is an understatement. In any other year Flowers would be in the top 5 DB's. But this year, Rodgers-Cromartie, McKelvin, Cason, Jenkins, and Indiana DB whose name evades me at this moment are all ahead of him for me.

MyWorldEntire
04/10/08, 08:10 PM
Wow my bad guys. I got my whole explanation down for my pick, and then I don't even put down the player I was picking. And it was between Baker and Sims for the pick, but I felt that DT was a bigger need than OT. Hopefully Baker will still be on the board for my next pick.

Kansas City is on the clock. Antoine Cason is a slam dunk, in my book.

interesting call on Hardy. I think Mario Manningham may be a better fit opposite Bowe.

Vanilla Bear
04/11/08, 01:42 PM
It was a toss-up between Hardy and Manningham. Just seemed to be more potential for him, although he seems to be a lot like Bowe.

Vanilla Bear
04/11/08, 01:50 PM
plus if I remember right Hardy had a faster 40 time...so i don't think there's much of a difference in speed

LeftWideOpen

either him or Carl Nicks. But I think the value w/ Manningham is much better and Shanahan wouldnt resist.

haha justin we posted picks at the exact same time...ive been gone taking the FE all day, my bad. you can delete the henne post

Killadelphia
04/12/08, 03:08 PM
yeah, I just did. I had Flacco first and I totally forgot about Henne until last minute and switched it. Henne will probably go with the next pick.

Chris M.
04/12/08, 03:27 PM
Yeah, Henne will definitely go to Chicago in the actual draft unless Flacco is still on the board. I'm still not entirely sold on Henne so I hope Flacco falls to us.

Scott Weber
04/12/08, 03:47 PM
haha I laughed at "delhomme getting up there in age." He's 33, his health seems way more important than age really.

xbrokendownx
04/12/08, 03:52 PM
yea i saw that he was only 33 after i posted that, but i still find it amazing. what you said about health is obviously true, but to me he plays the game likes hes like 37, 38

Killadelphia
04/12/08, 03:55 PM
33 isn't exactly young either. But yeah, should have mentioned to Tommy John surgery as well.

Killadelphia
04/12/08, 03:57 PM
I also think they go with Henne instead of Flacco because of Delhomme's health. Flacco has all the ability, but it is raw, and I'm not sure if he can step in as fast as Henne.

Chris M.
04/12/08, 05:53 PM
I would be very happy if Carolina took Henne over Flacco if he was still available.

Killadelphia

yeah, i saw king and that's why i went back to look at what wide outs were gone...guess not a lot of people want to fantasy draft a d-tackle or right guard.

you still think the birds will move up? this just seems like a really bad draft to do so and i feel like we'll get less for lito than we should moving up in this draft unless we move up in the first and get another decent pick.

I think they trade lito and #19 to move up 8-10 spots and draft Williams and Otah, and get a later round pick.

Eagles have 11 picks this year. They could also move up to nab rodgers-cromartie.

i think the otah move is possible, but i've also heard he could be available in the teens and if that's the case, it's not really worth trading lito to move up a few spots unless we get good second round action. i could see us getting a few second rounders though and the talk is, to avoid "missing" on a prospect receiver, the eagles might just use a bunch of their picks on a bunch of receivers and see if any pan out.

well we have a lot of picks to begin with and I don't see the Eagles wanting to do what they did last year where they cut what 4 of their picks? (Thumbs up on that draft!) Lito will bring a pick in the third or fourth round. Eagles will likely draft Albert if he somehow falls to us. But who knows, maybe they'll give the skins or giants their pick this year and draft a punter in the second round.

Lito will bring a pick in the third or fourth round. Eagles will likely draft Albert if he somehow falls to us. But who knows, maybe they'll give the skins or giants their pick this year and draft a punter in the second round.

do we feel relatively confident they won't draft a qb in the second this year? let's hope.

They'll definitely reach on a pick somewhere in the draft.

i think the otah move is possible, but i've also heard he could be available in the teens and if that's the case, it's not really worth trading lito to move up a few spots unless we get good second round action. i could see us getting a few second rounders though and the talk is, to avoid "missing" on a prospect receiver, the eagles might just use a bunch of their picks on a bunch of receivers and see if any pan out.

It's unlikely that Otah will make it past the Bears at 14 if he's not taken beforehand.

Also, wouldn't Seattle have picked Fred Davis?

LeftWideOpen
04/15/08, 05:11 PM
Possibly, but a lot of places have Bennett over Davis. There isnt a clear top TE, including Dustin Keller. It's a matter of preference.

i just think people's knowledge really fades after the first few rounds, honestly. then we're all just looking at mock drafts/picking or reaching for local players.

Exactly why I can't pick at #99 for Baltimore.

FondestMemory
04/21/08, 03:41 PM
if the steelers don't make any trades and stay where they're at, this is how i would LOVE their picks to be in the first five rounds:

1. branden albert
2. red bryant
3. chris johnson
4. orlando scandrick
5. mario urrutia

sadly, it's looking more and more like albert will be a top 10 pick. if so, i'd rather work a deal and grab some more second round picks. if would get get up in the second and grab brandon flowers, that'd be nice. or if we can grab charles godfrey a little later, i could dig that.

i really wanna come out of the weekend with chris johnson in pittsburgh though. i think that kid's gonna be special. him and willie would make a nice duo.

just sucks that it's not looking like albert will be around. that dude would be fucking perfect.
