I don't know, I like Christmas. Everyone is a lot nicer and that's nice to see. But I don't know, like a lot of people, I get depressed in the winter because I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. I hope this changes when I relocate to somewhere warm for the rest of my college education. And also, I don't like Christmas when everyone is having a rough year money-wise. When I was little, we were really poor but I never knew. Then when I got older, it was okay. Now we're doing pretty bad again. My parents can't give us a Christmas this year. But a lot of people are going through that I guess because I heard that Toys For Tots is way under their goal this year. How can people buy presents for others when they can't afford presents for their own families? I don't know, I'm kind of down today. All I can do is keep on keepin on, and I'm trying to do that.

yeah same here. I mean I'm happy that I get presents and all, but I don't go crazy over them and stuff. I'd actually rather give presents than receive, because I feel so selfish every time I get presents, even though I shouldn't. its weird. oh and...I'd rather have some one give me a present another month, like out of the blue, for no reason, because it'd mean more to me than getting the same present on christmas. Like, I love Christmas but its despite the presents. I always feel selfish when I get presents and I never get presents from my friends, but thats ok Cuz I'm poor and can't afford presents for them either. I am Christian and I like Christmas 'Cuz of the way it makes me feel inside. My family in't materialistic and we have a good time together. I also agree that it feels like they're obligated to give me stuff. If a person just out of the blue gave me a present at no specific time, it would be way more special cuz it would show they were thinking of me in their spare time for just the thought and not the obligation.

i don't dislike christmas.. but it's not a big deal to me. my family's not big on holidays, so other than the fact we have to unwrap gifts and we get lots of good food, it's just like any other day.

haha don't worry, I didn't say that directed at you. I actually agree with you that many people only like it for the gifts. I do just as much as the next guy. The difference is that I enjoy giving the gifts more than receiving them. Sure, that's cliched, but I like it a ton.

I also love Thanksgiving, if that makes my point more clear. That's also a time when the family gets together and everyone seems to be in a great mood. I guess it's not so much the holidays that I love, but the aura surrounding them.

Ok, first of all, did you not read the part about Seasonal affectivness disorder? Obviously I havn't been in the best of moods the last few weeks. Second, you know absolutely nothing of my situation. The people sleeping in my bed were my great aunt and uncle, not my grandparents. Why should I respect them? They have nothing to do with me being here. Third, why should I automatically respect my grandparents for having my parents? Should I respect every old couple because they might have given birth to people who gave birth to friends of mine? Fourth, for the love of christ, take a typing class. "ur", "mayb", "ull", "ppl", "sum". Cmon man, are you in 8th grade or something? apparently your family sucks. i love holidays, because they're some of the few times throughout the year where i get to see all of my family at once. i'm 25, i could honestly give a shit if they gave me presents, i'm much happier to see them because i rarely ever do. christmas is awesome, thanksgiving is awesome, easter is stupid.
