Cure me when we wake in the morning
right now let's forget
for tonight let's pretend
that you didn't break my heart in half
let's imagine I'm not dead

these sheets won't hide your face again
so stand up tonight
with arms wrapped so tight
that you'll forget I swore to be your coffin
and I'll let you dream dream dream

Chorus:
Spinning through the stars
there's not a God that could stop me
from loving you each and every day
For Christmas I will only ask
for one gift, to be happy
to lie in red satin and with you drift away

Bridge:
and I will bury us
and all our photographs
and the songs that wreak of you
I'll tear down all your posters
make a headstone for the carcass
and trip over the dead weight of us.

Comments please (oh yeah...I'm thinking that this song would have to be acoustic...so there's no screaming or really loud guitars or anything, it's kind of a soft, slightly twisted, ballad)
thanks.

It's a bit cliche. Also, what does red satin have to do with the song? Does it represent anything?

"and I will bury us
and all our photographs
and the songs that wreak of you
I'll tear down all your posters
make a headstone for the carcass
and trip over the dead weight of us."

I don't see how tearing down posters really have much meaning to it, and I don't think carcass is the best word you could use for that line. I don't know.. the whole bridge just seems kind of (dare I say it?) sketchy to me.

the red satin refers to a casket. taking down pictures is something you do when you get sick of a person, tearing down posters is something you do when you move out or replace. and carcass, to me, gives it a more graphic image than any other word symbolizing dead body.

I understand. I'm just thinking that for an acoustic song, the word "carcass" would just sound, I dunno.. kind of hard. When I read the lyrics I was thinking of it to be more of a screamo song. Eeehh I'm a bit tired so I know I'm not making any sense, so just disregard everything I say.
