I saw an advance screening.

I found the plot to be a bit convoluted and slow moving except for the ending which makes up for it by tying everything up too quickly. Thus, making the ending one big clusterfuck of thoughts that if executed properly would have been great.

I enjoyed the humor but Cody's reliance on "hip" dialogue sometimes takes away from what could be really great.

Megan Fox is GORGEOUS, not a great actor though.

JK Simmons and Adam Brody are the highlights of the movie.

Overall 7/10

This movie is going to be the victim of horrid marketing. This is a prime example. Reitman and Cody have to put out their own version of the trailer showcasing the comedy because the one coming out with Bruno on Friday is all horror. People are gonna go into this expecting the wrong thing.

I really like Juno as a story, if you kept the same events and got rid of the awful dialogue it'd be great. I'll give this a chance, just based on this trailer I'm not expecting much.

well I can already tell you won't like it, so you probably should save your money and rent it. If you have issue with the dialogue in Juno or United States of Tara or whatever else Diablo Cody has done, then you'll have issue with this too

Well Jennifer's body is a ridiculous story of a possessed cheerleader who kills people. They are older than the characters in Juno and consequently have less made up slang and other stuff that those characters did. The whole movie is a big wtf and is told in a comedy-horror way that makes you laugh. I thought it was very well done, but the mere fact that Diablo Cody and Megan Fox are involved means it will be the butt of a whole lot of bad reviews, go see it without a prior mindset and then form an opinion that way, thats the only advice i have

I've read the script, got some OK moments but the whole ideas just not very good. Also, the name 'Needy' just annoyed me. Her real names Anita, and I know Needy might mean she's a bit geeky and clingy, but would you really let yourself be called Needy as you grew up? :S

HOLY CRAP WHAT A BOX OFFICE BOMB!

Reasons it failed:
a) teenage film rated R = killer, im sure a lot more people bought tickets for other films and snuck in.

b) Although it was a "teenage" flick...I still didnt' really see the mass appeal here. A hot girl who kills? Well girls won't be interested because they could care less about Megan Fox and boys wont see it because they'll think it's 'lame'.

c) There was little to NO mention that this was from "the creator and writer of Juno" in any preview...why not? that would've attraced a lot more 17-23 year olds.

d) maybe they shouldve kept this more low key and accepted it as a underground, campy horror film rather than market the *beep* out of it and underachieve. It seems as if they raised their expectations too high as it got closer to the release time.

e) Megan Fox cant be the main "acting" draw. It's all ready hard enough to have actresses as a reason to see a film...megan fox is definitely NOT in that upper class yet at all.

f) Advertised poorly in other ways as well. This movie produced a "killer" soundtrack with a lot of popular acts that 17-23yo like...it wouldve been smart to feature some of those songs in the previews or mention it a bit. You know how many people saw 9 because of the coheed song (sadly haha).

Press screenings usually happen immediately before a movie is released to generate buzz (Usually within days of release)



Test screenings are usually months before and are used for the feedback they generate (via a survey given immediately after watching the movie)
