Of today, but may fade away:
- James vs. Anthony
- Yankees vs. People who hate the Yankees
Old rivalries that are still around:
- Yankees vs. Red Sox
- Jets vs. Dolphins
- Theres about 1000 college rivalries, so I'll just list the ones involving my school: Boston College vs. Notre Dame; BC vs. Boston University
- Army vs. Navy <-- this one is more than just college because of all the tradition behind it.
- A Rod vs Jeter...I know they're friends, but there has to be some friendly competition between the two since they're somewhat similar.

haha you're from New Jersey....Now, if my theory is correct (and so far it hasn't failed me with everyone I know from NJ) you have GOT to be a hardcore Yankees fan. I'm a Mets fan, myself, but at least it's NY.

Baseball, Basketball, Hockey rivalries cant be the greatest because we see them too often in the season....college football rivalries are easily the best...theres just no atmosphere like it and it really is pure hatred, at least for a few hours. If you went to the biggest rivalry game in each sport you would see its easily college football. Now I dont know what game for sure but just because of tradition Im going to say: ARMY vs. NAVY.

Army/Navy dwarfs every other rivalry
and Notre Dame/USC is a bigger rivalry than BC

hahaha so true. I go to BC and realize ND doesn't really care about this "rivalry." Kind of like us with BU. We don't care about them, but they take it seriously. I was just happy to see someone else who doesn't seem to have a connection to the two schools consider it that big. I mean, we do have the Irish Cup and stuff....but it's definitely not that huge of a thing.

Canada, represent.
Canada vs. Russia (1972 Summit Series ... that's the biggest one, obviously)
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Montreal Canadians (look at the Stanley Cup numbers and you'll know why)
There's a bunch more that I know about ... but I really can't think of them right now. A few involve the Oilers, Montreal and another team, and the Boston Celtics and another team ... I should know, just can't think much right now.
