In term of forums, both are fairly equal, because here can get quite interesting in terms of arguments, and at KP, it's a bit more down to earth. Meh, I like em both, I haven't been at KP for a while tho, better go post their soon.

In terms of ap.net and kp.com ... ap owns kp.

KP is just AP from the summer. They make it seem like its something amazing when its not. I'll stick with AP.

What are you talking about ? For a forum that has only been up for less than 4 months or so..how active do you want it to be ? It's got just as many posters as a place like RTS does and it's extremely active. People are constantly posting..maybe not in the lyrics forum so much (which is where you spent the majority of your time at KP), but in the Music/General forums it's always active and stuff. Give it some time.

Personally i like neither better. Maybe ap a little better because this is where it all started and, ah the memories. People here treat me like shit, and people there treat me like shit. More people there treat me like shit than people here so i kind of like it better. As is the people at both forums i guess you can say all the "good" people went there. This should be no contest. KP is easily better. We promote better music and don't swarm you with stupid paid avertisements from bands that aren't any good.

As far as the forum goes, the majority of KP posters listen to better music, that's what makes it better. Go ahead and call me an elitist, I don't care.

Sure, we do have a fair majority of pointless threads and posters, but what forum doesn't?

i think what kevin was trying to say is that the music over a kp are by bands a lot deeper and more talented than the bands you talk about here. put the guitar tabs or drum lines of yellow card or senses fail up against the mars volta and it's not even a contest. im not trying to put down pop/emo punk bands, but music is evolving and thats what kp is into.

i've seen mars volta live a few times and i think its horrible each time. They have a kickass drummer, but their music i could do without. And music is not exactly evolving. Bands like mars volta have been around for years.

I didn't get told at all.

So we take two bands, say The Beatles and Brand New. Two completely different bands from two different periods of time. The Beatles are easily more talented songwriters, lyricists, and musicians. Sure you may like Brand New more, but you should be able to realize that The Beatles' music is much better.

Regardless of personal preference, if you have any sort of musical knowledge, you should be able to agree with that.

BUT there is no way to physically show that they are so much better and there is no way to judge the greatness of a band because even if 999999999999999 people love the beatles, then if 1 person doesn't, than to that person the beatles don't make better music.

You've made some good points. Sure you can't technically prove one band is better, but a good majority of the time it's fair to say that band A is better than band B.

Kevin, you make valid points about the whole Beatles, Nirvana, etc, etc. point, but what is that supposed to mean in regards to your first post? You said that the majority of KP members like better music than people here, is that to say that they like the Beatles, Nirvana, and bands such as those? Because alot of members from here are also signed up over there, and vice versa, the forums feed off each other I think, it just has a bit different atmosphere, or whatever you want to call it.

I'm not trying to be an ass. But think about it. Yes, the Beatles, Ramones, and all those bands that started the music we love today are all, technically, the 'best' band in terms of the INDUSTRY and history ... but when it comes to our opinions, it can be different, to a certain extent.

I wasn't implying that either forums listen to those bands. I was just picking primary, well known and extremely talented, bands to use in my examples.

Also, I'm not trying to say that no one on this forum listens to the same type of music as the majority of KP users. It just seems that an excessive amount of posters on this site discuss and praise the same ridiculously popular pop-punk and media-emo bands. Most don't realize that there is better music being made.

Sure a good amount of posters at KP enjoy the same styles of music as this site, but it seems that more posters there have progressed and matured their tastes. More have grown out of these certain bands and have started to appreciate a wide range of Indie artists on many different levels.

In now way am I trying to stereotype this entire forum. A good amount of you listen to the same type of music as myself.

if you ask me who makes the biggest impact on society normally is more talented. take the beatles... they had a huge impact they have become legends. same with hendrix... hes known to be the best guitarist.. why is that? because he had a huge impact on the people during his time. i think that your time period and how many people you affect normally tells you whos more talented in most cases.

i guess that some bands can be more talented because they can play more difficult songs and have more emotional songs... but that doesn't necessarily make their music better. it makes them better musicians but some people will still think that their music is not better than another, less talented, band.
