Really tired. Getting it up early.
Of these buzzed about 2008 Sundance Festival films, which are you most excited about? Plot synopsis's below:
An American Soldier - Uncle Sam really wants you! A compelling exploration of army recruitment in the United States told through the story of Louisiana Sergeant, First Class Clay Usie, one of the most successful recruiters in the history of the U.S. Army.
American Teen - A documentary on seniors at a high school in a small Indiana town and their various cliques.
Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson - A portrait of the late gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson.
Trouble the Water - An aspiring rap artist and her streetwise husband, armed with a video camera, show what survival is all about when they are trapped in New Orleans by deadly floodwaters, and seize a chance for a new beginning.
Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired - Marina Zenovich's new documentary examines the public scandal and private tragedy which led to legendary director Roman Polanski's sudden flight from the United States.
Slingshot Hip Hop - The voice of a new generation rocks and rhymes as Palestinian rappers form alternative voices of resistance within the Israeli-Palestinian struggle.
Stranded: I Have Come from a Plane That Crashed on the Mountains - For the first time ever, survivors of the famous 1972 Andes plane crash tell in their own words their harrowing story of survival.
American Son - The story of a young Marine, fresh from Camp Pendleton, who is forced to confront the complexities of adulthood and a volatile home life during a four-day Thanksgiving leave.
The Wackness - Story, set in 1994, centers on a troubled teenage drug dealer and a drug-addled psychiatrist -- after the former trades pot for therapy sessions, then falls for the doctor's daughter.
King of Ping Pong (http://imdb.com/title/tt1110272/)
Anywhere, USA - Told in three segments ranging from satirical to tragic, the film is a wildly original look at American manners, prejudices, and family dynamics.
Blue Eyelids - Marina wins a paradise vacation for two, but when she realizes that she has no one to bring along, she decides to invite a stranger named Victor. The pair soon discovers that true love depends more on compatibility rather than idyllic scenery.
Durakovo: Village of Fools - Russian nationalism percolates in a castle outside Moscow, where Mikhail Morozov rules autonomously over young initiates, laying the groundwork for a rapidly growing right-wing movement.
Ballast - A drama set in the Mississippi delta, where one man's suicide affects three people's lives.
NOTE: I didn't include Choke because that's likely what everyone would choose. So let's call this the "Choke Memorial Poll."
