Thoughts On 311???

If I had 10 thumbs, they'd all be up for 311!!!!!!!
They are each talented as hell and put on a damn fine show! I've seen them 3 times and have not been to a show more energetic than what they produce....

I know they aren't punk but they have some punk roots in the soul of their music, not to mention a lot of roots from various genres.

I like em, but "Evolver" isn't as good as the older stuff. "Creatures (For A While)" is pretty cool though. I like the video too. :)

Maybe if I wanted to get stoned and listen to music of no substance, I'd listen to 311. If you want an energetic show, try Black Eyes, Q and not U, or Les Savy Fav.

I love 311. They put on an awesome live show. Before I saw them in concert, I didnt really like going to concerts. Now, I compare every show I see to when I saw 311 live like 3 years ago.

It's hard to say a band as successful as 311 isn't talented. Maybe you don't like them, and that's understandable, but it takes more than talent to even make it to the mainstream. Despite your opinons of their music, the band is still talented. :)

I love 311....what they have done through their career is amazing and Ive seen em 3 times and they are amazing live as well, they play forever and own. HOWEVER Evolver and Transistor are both very sub-par albums. But Grassroots, Music, s/t, and From Chaos make up for it, phonomenal albums. Soundystem is ok, not amazing not bad.

Not a big 311 fan, Nick Hexum just kinda gets on my nerves. Not saying they are bad, because they aren't, it's just not for me.

I have to agree with chris although my sister listens to 311 they just don't seem to have much to my interest

I agree, Evolver was a let down. I'm not the biggest fan, but I've seen them live 3 times, and each time they put on an excellent show. Grassroots and From Chaos are my favorite.

311 is my favorite band, and although their last album was a bit of a dissapointment, lacking much of what their previous albums had in mass, they are extroadinary in every sense of the word... Dont trash talk my men...

j/k Musically, they are pretty dang good, lots of respect for the drummer. Creatures is just such a terrible song though, I almost really did weep when I first heard that it really was 311 doing that song.

I agree. I also hate how people hold this band on a pedastal and label them as one of the most talented and influential bands of our generation.

Im not a hippe.. Thats so stereotypical that 311's listeners are primarily stoner hippie types...

I never said they are the best band ever and they have changed rock music as we know it, but I think they deserve alot of credit for straying away from the norm and creating such a diverse form of music...

i didnt enjoy the whole touring with somthing corperate, im glad they were thefirst opening band and so i dindt have to sit through it long, bahaha.
