Monday

Drag the tips of my icy fingers
Along the radiator ‘til they’re warm
You’re second guessing my ghosts
Those shadows and smoke alarms

As naked as we were made
Wrapped up in your silk and skin
We’re letting the days escape

We’re escaping…

Each flickering, failing thought
The burdens of all we’ve seen
This weekend brought out the light
That slept inside me

Throw the car keys out the window, won’t you?
We’ll stay frozen, smiling, while the static circles
Then we’ll roll these jacket sleeves
Run out into the sea and sink straight to the bottom

As naked as we both lay
Wrapped up in our perfect tense
In love with everything

This follows on from the House and Home song "A Weekend Away", which can be heard here (http://www.myspace.com/houseandhome) if you haven't already. We've already got a demo instrumental track down for this, which is another piece of gorgeous work from Francis, and it will most likely be recorded and put on our EP/LP;

I liked this a lot my favorite being this part:

Each flickering, failing thought
The burdens of all we’ve seen
This weekend brought out the light
That slept inside me

Very beautiful and may I ask when we will hear something new from House and Home and Little Drawings anytime soon?

Thankyou for reading it, nd very quickly I may add.

It all depends alot on when I get my laptop fixed and my new compressor mic. As soon as that happens, new H&H demos will be created very quickly as Francis and I both churn out alot of stuff for that. I mean, of all the music Francis is supplied for H&H, only 5 or so have been made into songs yet, and we both write like madmen anyway.

As for Little Drawings, hopes are for hitting the studio for 4 days in the summer and recording an EP

Haha yeah I read it as soon as I saw it posted, I'm such a loser.

That's mad cool 5 songs already written out sounds great. i hope you get your laptop fixed and a new mic soon as I have been waiting for some new stuff since Quiet Exit.

Gives me another thing to look forward to in the summer other than no school haha. I can't wait for LD stuff, it should be great.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, its brilliant to know people care about the shit we put out.

In the process of fine tuning the Little Drawings songs for the EP. Need some piano practice time to get a ballad ready, which is just piano and ambient feedback titled 'For What I'm Worth'

House and Homes is just brimming with possibilities at this point. This particular song sounds like Explosions in the Sky meets Pompeii

You already know I am excited for this, but I have to say, it works brilliantly off of A Weekend Away, a seamless story, and some of the lines... I don't know, you put the reader/listener in the narrator's shoes.

Kudos on once again making me jealous of your sexiness.

Thanks again son.

Yeah, the two songs are kind of brothers, with this being about the day when they have to leave and go back to the real world.

I got to have a good sleep last night for the first time in about a week, which was good.

Heading through to Edinburgh in a few hours and going out to get my drink-on tonight.

How about you sir?

Not terrible, a couple things bothering me.

I wish I could get my drink on. =[

Oh! I am excited about recording my new song, but my fucking pre-amp is in England, because I left it in my friends backpack.

Well, I'm heading through to Edinburgh purely because I'm not having a great time in Stirling at the minute, and I want to get shitfaced and try to score as well.

Trying to find a new flat for me and three others as well, which is difficult to say the least due to the fact that Stirling is a predominantly student based town.

Get your friend to post me the pre-amp and I will use it.

Haha, post you the pre-amp.

Nice.

I'm just bummed, I have all my equipment, but i put my pre-amp in his backpack, and then he went off on vacation to England.

Lucky bastard is the only male on a trip of 17 people, and he has already had sex with one of them.

I wish I was down in England having sex, as apposed to being up in Scotland and not having sex.

Ahhhh well.

Where abouts in England are they?

I liked this, wasn't my favorite piece from you, but still good. Also, I thought the ending was perfect.

Thanks.

with House and Home, I take a much simpler approach to writting the lyrics and use less colourful language when I can. When something is as electronic and ambience based as our music, I think it needs to be grounded by something which is why the songs are about pretty common and day to day stuff

The contrast between the simple lyrics and the very busy music, is really quite comfortable...

Thankyou. I can't wait to get my gear all sorted and fixed up so we can start getting vocals down.

Then, we'll keep writting and recording the new songs at the steady pace we seem to be and see if we have either enough consistantly original and good songs to put together either an EP or an LP

I am going to see about getting this demo'd for Francis tommorow now that I have got my laptop up and running again.

Can't wait to get the H&H wheels in motion again.
