I know we get meaningless threads about bands that get their songs on stupid shows but this is one that i thought was a lot more interesting than the others. I was very surprised to hear Cute Without the E (cut from the team) as an intro into one of the stupid/retarded/pop songs that was on the countdown. That made me very happy b/c MTV rarely plays good music.

p.s. i've not gone crazy for watching trl... just very bored.

yeah ever since mtv featured tbs on that advanced warning thing. They've been playing that for a lot of backround stuff.

They use TBS' songs on the background a lot. Great Romances is usually used in Made I think

Yeah, my sister was watching some show the other day and I heard Jurassic 5, Hieroglyphics, and Plain White T's in the background.

I don't watch TV much at all, so I wouldn't know this shit. I've seen Thrice advertised on Much Music before, tho.

The best music played on MTV is the backround music. I'd love to hear their elevator music.

Yeah I hardly ever watch TV either, the only time i've seen a good band on MTV here is when they played Thursday - "Signals Over The Air". The rest of the time it's like a 24/7 Hip Hop show.

When I had Fox cable TV last year, there was this channel called Channel V which is a bit like MTV, but they played more good stuff, they occasionally put on a Brand New video. And they had a whole hour punk show, and played stuff like Coheed & Cambria, Taking Back Sunday, MxPx and loads more stuff like that.

Yeah, they have a show like that on Much Music here. Which has been brilliantly titled, 'The Punk Show'. It's pretty good. I've seen some awesome videos on there. But I don't watch TV that much. Sometimes, though.

They don't play a very wide range, however ... NOFX, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, stuff like that.

ive stopped watching MTV and Muchmusic (I am canadian). If i watch music videos at all ill watch them on Fuse but even they have a lot of crap on there so it just works better to download the videos i wanna see and watch them when i want to on my computer.

I thought Fuse and MuchMusic were the same thing?

Didn't they also play Stars Hide Fire as an intro for a while. I hate how they act like they discovered them though. I've known about them for quite a while, and all of a sudden, this Advanced Warning thing. I'm sure we're going to have to get used to this....

I have MTV Canada as well. It has nothing on Much Music.
