I also have no idea when their next CD will be out. I might be going to see them in two weeks which would be really cool.

Sorry, don't have any info on them.

But, I do love Allister. Last Stop, Suburbia was a killer record.

I liked it as well. The songs have good hooks (though kind of simple lyrics), but the cheerfulness makes up for what they lack in. And Ariel (ex-Hippos) plays on a few songs, so you can't go wrong there.

i loved it at first but got sick of it pretty quickly. and its weird because this is one band i never hear anything about wether it be at the drive thru site or anywhere else. ive only seen that theyve been touring with homegrown on the main page, or atleast they were idk if they still are

I've heard that they are currently writing some new material for an album which may come out late in 2004.

In case some of you don't know, between now and the time that their last album was released, they've lost two members, so now Scott and Tim (the two vocalists, also on guitar and bass) are the only remaining original members. Kind of old news, but just in case you didn't know.

And if you've only heard Last Stop Suburbia, you need to check out their first album Dead Ends And Girlfriends. While LSS is awesome music, it kind of gets old after a while, but I could listen to DEAG for days and not get tired of it.

Truly one of my very favorite bands.

I love Allister. Last Stop is fucking awesome. Fucking best music to play on a good day. I always crank up the volume when listening to "Scratch". I agree with Jason when he said in his review that it had the best intro. Dead Ends and Girlfriends is just as great. Only track I don't like is "I Want It That Way." These guys are awesome live. And Scottie and Tim are around nice guys. They were pretty cool when I talked to them after the show.

My love for Allister will never die. Looking forward to a new album.

god, it's been so long i almost forgot how much i hate this place. almost. had to see how far the quality of the forums had sunk since everyone left for greener pastures.

edit: and how can you 'enjoy yourself', worldstheory, if you're listening to brainless, mindnumbing poser pop shit? rhetorical question, darling. think on it.

There's a difference between "brainless" and "uninterested in bringing in unrelated issues". To me, music is an escape from difficulty or pain. Sometimes I am in the mood to simply lay back and enjoy the simple things in life.

I have a question for you. How can you enjoy yourself if everything to you has to be deep and meaningful and complex? Then where do you go when you want to get away from it all?

Yes, I'm the annoying kid in the back of the class who answers all of the teacher's rhetorical questions.

Their new drummer looks like a young Ryan Stiles (Whose Line Is It Anyway). Their old drummer is the spitting image of Elijah Wood. Not just in appearance, voice too.

wow, your right i never thought of that, he is a spitting image of Elijah Wood.

Haha, this reminded me in the first drive-thru dvd where John Tran from Home Grown is interviewing Allister on their bed in a hotel room, and he asks "what about any girl storys?" and all the guys were like pass and stuff and the drummer said in a sarcastic voice "SO IM KNEE HIGH WITH THE BITCH AND IM FUCKING THE HELL OUT OF HER ALL RIGHT..." or something along those lines. that was probolly the funniest moment on that dvd.
