I know I'm going to catch hell for this but, Does anyone have any any mp3's of Matchbook Romance in their early days or know where I can get them? Someone please help me out if you do.

Hah, the whole "The Getaway" story is kind of funny.

The Getaway is a local band to me. They are the guys who had the lawsuit with Matchbook Romance.

No, I don't have any mp3s of the early Matchbook Romance, only mp3's of the real Getaway.

Yeah, That was pretty funny. Oh well, Everyone is happy now. The thing I hate about the canadian "Getaway" is on kazaa everyone has their songs labled as Matchbook's or Fizzlewinks'. I always have to go to the real Getaways website to check their songs so I dont get the wrong one. Confusing as hell!!!!! Funny thing is there are like 10 more band with the same name now. Wonder if they are gonna try to threaten all of them also?

Yeah. Haha. Especially the song "Promise" by MBR. It's always labelled as The Getaway. So when any of friends, who are fans of the getaway go to download some of their songs, they find Promise. And they think its a Getaway song. And then they come up to me and are like, holy shit..you have to hear this song by The Getaway, it's called promise and it's so good. Haha, and then i'm like IT'S NOT THE GETAWAY, IT IS MATCHBOOK ROMANCE!.

But yeah, the mislabelling of the songs is really confusing. I like both bands though. The Getaway and MBR. But, MBR are better.

Yeah, theres tons of other bands with the name The Getaway now. If The Getaway really wanted to they could have a lawsuit with them in a second. The Getaway is signed, and none of these bands are..so the second they get signed, get ready for a name change. haha.

so whats the story? matchbook romance used to be called the getaway but they had to change it because of the canadian band? hmmm... confusing, but i do remember getting the getaway - promise and thinking WHAT?! I thought that was a matchbook song. the canadian the getaway is awesome by the way, i seen them in the summer time opening for sum 41/blink 182 and i thought they rocked.

Yeah, you got the story right. It's a little more complicated and that...with the huge lawsuit and all, but that's basically it.

The Getaway are really good.
