Here's a show review from my webzine that Penny Lane wrote.
Ahh, Rufio. One of my all time favorite bands. With awesome songs like One Slowdance and Follow Me, who doesn't like them? Rufio, originally from Southern California is one freakin' amazing punk rock band with two cds out and an EP. Konstantine and I were lucky enough to get to travel to Rochestor to go see them in concert.
When we got there, there was a huge long line to get in so we waited in the car with my mom who was cool enough to drive us there and endure our loud music. So we get in (we bought tickets ahead of time :-D) and we went over to this table thing and found out that Rufio was not the only band playing! There was Fall Out Boy, Northstar, and Motion City Soundtrack too! I got a Rufio t-shirt and a MCS tshirt and free stickers. :-P We looked around to see where we wanted to stand (we're not exactly what you would call tall..) when we found this table thing that stuck out of the wall. So we sat on that.
Fall Out Boy was first, you guys kicked ass! They started off with my fave song by them, Dead On Arrival. I suggest you all go listen to that song. Now. They really got everyone in a good, rockin' mood. Then came Northstar. They didn't do much for me. They were good, but they didn't have a lot of energy and they weren't really responding to the crowd. Next came Motion City Soundtrack. Man, if that was the whole show, I woulda been happy with that. They were AMAZING. They were tight, funny, wild, and the music was just awesome. I only knew one of their songs before the concert but now I'm asking for their CD's for Christmas. I cannot give them enough praise, you guys were great! Then...(drumroll please)...RUFIO came!!! I don't care what people say about them not playing good live, I thought they were swish-a-licious (or awesome or amazing, I'm kind of running out of adjectives). One Slowdance was by far the best. I mean when they played that, everyone was singing along and swaying their arms and stuff =).
So we had a great time. We took tons of pictures that hopefully came out. And we talked to some hot guys (the one who gave up his spot for me). If you want to get some tour dates for Rufio and the other bands go to their website. I think Yellowcard is touring with them now, another great band. Go check it out!
