i remember my dad taking me to see nolan ryan pitch his last game in angels stadium when i was 5, i remember bits and pieces of it but just because you see a pitcher once doesn't mean he can be your favorite

phillie - cole hamels, even if he's a fucking prima donna.

Roger Clemens, steroids or not. He was a great pitcher to watch live in his prime.

From just legends and stories, easily Sandy Koufax, I have to say that since he's a Jewish hero.

Alive to see? I absolutely adore the way Andy Pettitte pitches and I completely copy his mechanics and pick-off move, but Jamie Moyer's ways and methods of pitching are amazing. I'd pick Andy as my favorite just above him because he's a true Yankee.

Jamie Moyer's my 2nd favorite too actually. I really didn't think anyone on here would give him props. That's whatsup.

I wish he could have stayed a starter. He had a fabulous rookie year.

1995: 14 starts, 9-2, 2.81 ERA (lgERA 4.06), 55 K's, 1.28 WHIP, finished 4th in Rookie of the Year voting

can we talk about what's wrong with this picture other than the obvious? why the hell is randy johnson wearing a number that starts with 3?

startBBtoday
05/08/08, 12:58 AM
ok, apparently johnson wore numbers 34 and 51 in 1993, don't worry, already emailed uniwatch about this, but does anyone know why this was? now that it's come about, i remember something very very very vaguely about this and possibly remember seeing it and finding it strange in old mariners programs.

i think mine would have to be tim wakefield just for the reason that he's been on the red sox for so long that he wins by seniority.

least favorite pitcher ever: Tom fuckin Gordon

Its a tossup I used to like roger back in the day......

But more recently (after the age of 12 or so..)

I would say my favorite is
Mark Prior or kerry wood

I loved Mark Prior

I went to Wrigley back in 03 and got to see him pitch a complete game shutout

It really does suck for that to happen to such young talented arms

more importantly, john smoltz. absolutely filthy starter, even better closer, back to outstanding starter, now a closer again. incredible.

Dodger days. For a 2-3 year stretch, he was the best closer in baseball history. Absolutely ridiculous.

I was always a big Juan Guzman fan back in the day same with Pat Hentgen, right now probably Roy Halladay though Shawn Marcum is quickly moving up the list.

Dennis eckersly(sp)

Tim Wakefield
And
Nomo (basically because of his windup)
