Well, I'm aware this is completely shameless and whatnot, but my first post here might as well be about the band I manage:

(clockwise from top left)
Mat Franklin - guitar
Alex Nauth - vocals
Lex Vegas - drums
Sam Duff - bass
Cole Walsh-Davis - guitar

Born at the social crossroads of life that is college, LOOK AFRAID formed just over a year ago, combining the creative forces of Miami University students who had gathered considerable musical experience between their several previous bands. In their short existence, they've built considerable momentum and a solid reputation between local touring, releasing two EPs, and winning a national battle of the bands through Famecast.com, a victory which earned them not only widespread attention, but the opportunity to play at the legendary Stubb's in Austin and a cool $10,000. Developing a sound that infuses hardcore, Western, and arena rock, Look Afraid is very 1980s in their energy and barely contained sex drive, yet forward-thinking in their intricate instrumental arrangements and versatility in sound- both in terms of genre and tempo. The band's recipe of heavy guitar and bass riffs combined with wailing vocals that contain just a hint of a Jagger-esque snarl makes them sound familiar yet original and refreshing. The intense and aggressive sound contained in their studio recordings alludes to the energetic live shows the band prides itself on- live shows which have continually impressed their peers and attendees of their shows, including Aaron Burgess of Spin Magazine, who stated "...you guys have grown into a full-scale badass rock band," in reaction. With the band members having finished their academic obligations, Look Afraid will soon kick their quest for success into a higher gear beginning this summer with more extensive touring and, eventually, recording a full LP.
Look Afraid is just now on Absolutepunk (http://absolutepunk.net/lookafraid), plus you can check out their music and tour dates on Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/lookafraid) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Look-Afraid/7573289749?ref=ts). Enjoy liberally until desired rock 'n roll euphoria is achieved.
To contact, either PM me, shoot me an email, or reach the band via Myspace or Facebook.
Please enjoy.
