Your opinion on him? He has impressed me most of all the Democrats running thus far. Chances are, if he makes it to the NY primary, I'll vote for him.

Personally, I know he won't win the nomination....but I do think he'd make a great VP.

Anyone agree or disagree?

not only is he running for president, but he has the same name as the guy on ''crossing over.'' haha

hahaha no, not that guy...although I do agree that he's a fake...so vague.

Anyway, does anyone at least dislike Edwards? I'd rather hear your opinions...so I can find out what's "wrong" with him...if that makes sense.

I don't think Edwards is what America needs right now. He's had a good, solid career, but too moderate. Maybe as a V.P. he would be good, he would try to be unbias if he had to break a tie in congress.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think he has a shot for the Presidency. I think a VP nod would be nice, which is why I hope he gets enough votes to merit a second looking by whoever wins the nomination (especially since Clark said he would not be VP if Dean wins...and it also looks like Kerry will not take it).

Second place in Iowa wirh 32% of the vote....not too shabby. I realize Iowa isn't a very reliable indicator of what's to come, but it's something.

I heard a stat that said only 4 times in the last 30 years or so has Iowa picked the candidate that got the nomination, granted 4 times is a lot since the presidential election only happens every 4 years, but this could go anywhere. Gephardt has dropped out now, not surprising though. I am surprised at Dean's third place finish on Monday, I figured he would finish ahead of Edwards.

it[s 4 in the last 8 elections I believe. 50%, which isn't too great....but it's not as small as the stat seems at first.

it's not over...although dean has no shot at winning the presidency...if he loses the nomination, whoever he endorses will have an outside shot in the election (unless it's kucinich or sharpton, which it won't be)

^^ I'm confused. Just for clarification: are you saying that Dean would have less of a chance of winning the presidency than one of the others with his endorsement? I agree with you that it seems Bush probably will win no matter what (but not necessarily by a lot), but I'm just curious who you think would give him the most trouble.

yea..my wording wasn't clear at all...my fault

but you got it right, i think that dean has no shot at being elected...but i do believe that whoever wins the nomination, has an outside show at winning with dean's endorsement...and i think that's either kerry or clark

Okay, awesome. I can definitely agree with you on that stance.

As Far as I can tell it seems as though Dean is too liberal to get undecided votes from moderate americans. If Clark got the nomination I think he could stand the best shot against Bush, but I'm not sure as to wheather or not his decision to not campain in Iowa hurt him.

On a side note: Does anyone think that Gore could have beaten Bush this time around?
