View Full Version : I'm Not Holden Caulfield (acoustic medio-core from Miami, FL)

I've been writing music for a while and listening to it for even longer. I realized that all these whiny bands out there seem to try to emulate the self-righteousness of Holden Caulfield from The Catcher In The Rye in an attempt to be different, but they all end up the same. That's where I come in. I beg to differ and openly admit that I'm not Holden Caulfield, nor do I try to be. It's kind of a subtle stab at music today while at the same time it's me making fun of myself.

It's acoustic music with trace elements of Death Cab For Cutie, Bright Eyes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Brand New, and a hint of early Against Me! I've self-released an EP entitled Symbols And Colors on myspace, and I'm gearing up for a self-released full length album.

Tell me what you think, but never mind the quality, I'm aware that's it's subpar.

Not too bad. The song I heard didn't seem to flow very well in the sense that the guitar and the vocals seemed distant (if that makes sense). Good luck though.

Thanx. Which song did you hear, so I can try to improve it?
