My father is a huge Steely Dan fan, has been since they started putting out records, and all my life I've been listening to this band, just being around him. I've grown to really love all their albums (except the ones they put out since the reunion), they were genius songwriters, and don't get enough recognition.
Your thoughts?

I'm out of jail, and I'm living my dream. You know what I realized? I'm not meant to be a cop. I am not meant to be a magician's assistant. I was not meant to go to college. I was not meant to donate blood. I am a Babylon Sister, and I was meant to shake it with Steely Dan, motherfuckers!

Pretzel Logic is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Same boat here, grew up listening to Steely Dan, and I'm still really pumped when I hear a song on the radio. All of my friends who are not enlightened to the ways of the Dan give me a lot of crap about liking it, but eh, who cares?

Never listened to Steely Dan, but I've heard Donald Fagen's The Nightfly a couple times and it sounded good.

Aja is pretty decent although vastly overrated.

Finally some respect for classic dudes! The Dan is awesome! Can't Buy A Thrill is such a solid album.

The worst part is that they won't even admit that the guys are talented. Frustrating.

You should definitely download a few of their earlier records.

Never really listened to him, apart from a few popular songs. I always think about that part in Knocked Up when i hear his name

Steely Dan is the musical collaboration of Donald Fagon and Walter Becker. It sounds like it could be a name though ha.

Man, I've got so many fucking words to eat about this band. Can't But a Thrill is pretty wonderful, too.

Listening to Aja again and just can't handle how great the musicianship is. The drumming at the end of the title track is fucking bananas.
