Okay, I know this has been posted before, I just can't find it. I definitely would have referred to it, but I'm too damn lazy.
Anyhow, this is about the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, the clothing company Atticus, along with the Macbeth shoe company. I just wanted to see if anyone else saw they connection they all share (pretty much how Atticus and Macbeth revolve logos and names based on the book).
Atticus is the father character in the book. Scout (which is the daughter) is the name of Atticus' womens clothing department. Macbeth has a pair of shoes named Harper and another design called the Lees. That name devrived from the author, Harper Lee.
I think this is totally unoriginal. Somewhat cliche. What do you think?

I don't see how that is unoriginal. Sure, they're taking all the names from the book...but what's wrong with that ? I think its an awesome idea to have names all based on things in the book.

No, I'm not bashing at you at all.. Infact, I'm wearing my Macbeth Lee's right now.. (although, I despise Atticus for their high prices that come with such low quality screen tees).
But yeah, I just thought it was ironic in a sense, more than thinking it was uninnovative. I don't know, I think revolving your company upon a book (or any other material in that sense) is cool to some extent. I just noticed those and found it a bit annoying.

Yeah, fair enough. It's just your opinion on the subject. I respect that.
P.S. I was kididng. I know you weren't actually bashing me. Heh.

I agree....I mean its pretty damn clever to tie everything together like that, and its not like the names Atticus or Macbeth are really lame or anything either....

City in England?
That's the only thing that came to mind. Then again, Macbeth is named after a character in Shakespear's famous play, so it could be possible, you never know.

Jack London. Famous author who wrote White Fang.
But just as a note, a friend of mine interviewed a few of the guys that run Atticus, and they actually didn't create the name at first for the "To Kill a Mockingbird." Mark, Tom and a buddy just thought it was a cool word, and Atticus is supposivly a Greek god of music and arts, and it then became the clothing lines name. He says the TKAM reference was just an added bonus. Just some interesting stuff.

Yeap. Each model has a quote under the sole from a different band.
My Macbeth Londons quote is from Alkaline Trio.
