I think that Drive Thru Records is the on of the best record companies. I love all of their bands. They all do get labeled as "Drive Thru" bands but each band has its own sound. Home Grown sounds nothing like Finch, Finch sounds nothing like The Early November, The Early November sounds nothing like Senses Fail and so on. They all have their own sound and I think that they're all worth giving a chance. Just thought I'd say that. Also, what do you guys think of the new Blink 182 album?

I'll admit I love every band on Drive Thru except Steel Train and Hidden in Plain View. And the new Blink is amazing

the bands on drive thru are all pretty good (of course there are a few i dont like)...but to me, most of them lack certain depth for some reason.

I listen to most of the bands on Drive Thru, fans have established that Drive Thru is a 'poppy' label, which is true in a way. Solid label, nonetheless.
New blink is amazing, hands down.

I listen to a few of the Drive-Thru bands and they are all real good, but I agree with you Drive-Thru Records is very diversified in the genres and sounds they have on the label.............And the new Blink182 album sucks ass........well if I was gay I would prolly say something like that, but im not and the Blink album indeed kicks much ass.......
in my opinion drive thru is falling apart. they don't fully own anfg anymore, the movielife broke up and they lost midtown quite some time ago. the movielife and midtown were my favorites on drive thru. i think senses fail has the most potential at the moment. i absolutely love the new blink-182 album. i think it's by far their best work yet.

I disagree with you on this one, Alex. New Found Glory are one of the best pop-punk bands out there. Their albums have been consistently good over the past few years and continue to amaze me with new work (new song clip. wow). I personally don't think they get boring, truthfully, mainly because they have enough albums with enough music to continue to satisfy me. One of my favourite bands of all-time, I would almost say, considering they brought me into the 'scene', if you want to say it that way.
Meh, I really like New Found Glory, what can I say?

I'm starting to agree, bandwise but also businesswise. They lost a lot of good bands either completely or almost all the way, and that leaves some not-so-good bands in their place (Steel Train). I do like Hidden in Plain View, RX Bandits, and a few others, but that's about it. In the business aspect, I have heard not-so-good things about how they treat their bands. I'm just saying what I've heard. Maybe it's rumors, I don't know, but these things were said in a few interviews in magazines over the past year.
BTW, Blink-182's new CD- It's starting to grow on me. I didn't like it much at first, and I still don't like some of the sounds, but the songs are definitely growing on me. I love Stockholm Syndrome because of the letter being read at the beginning.

I think drive thru signs pretty good bands in general. I can't tell if they either sign bands which they think are the next big thing or if they sign bands after the new trend starts. I think they sign bands, make em big, and thus start a new trend. And ya, what're better labels than drive thru aside from like...fat wreck, AF, fueled by ramen, and victory (which isn't that great anyway)?

nfg has been with another record company and drive-thru since before sticks and stones i think.
and drive-thru records is a horrible record label. i dont like any band on the label. they need to get more young bands.

I think nfg considers them part of MCA or Geffen or whatever. And I think Drive-thru is a division of MCA. I'm not too sure though.

MCA was bought out by Geffen.
As for Drive-Thru. I love the label. Probably my favourite record label out there. Some of their newer bands (Hidden In Plain View, Steel Train, etc.) i'm not really into, but they've got alot of great stuff to keep me satisfied.
And about the new Blink-182 album. Do I even have to respond ? It's unbelievable. They've done it again, and made me even more of a fan than I ever was. (I'm an incredibly huge Blink fan).

Personally, I loved Sticks and Stones. But, i've seen lots of mixed feelings on it. My favourite tracks were:
"Something I Call Personality"
"Sonny"
"Understatement"
"The Story So Far"

Something I Call Personality was my favorite song on Sticks and Stones. My Friends Over You was great too but it was played to much, so i got cik of it. My favorite NFG song of all time is probolly The Goodbye Song or Hit Or Miss. From what I heard from the videos on their site, the new alvumb is gonna be really really good.

Sticks and Stones lasted a long, long time in my cd player. It was a great addition to New Found Glory's collection of quality albums. My favourites were ...
'It's Been A Summer' - I rocked out to this song too many times to even remember.
'Something I Call Personality' - Fast and awesome. Great song.
'Singled Out' - Another fav.
'The Story So Far' - What can I say? Absolutely incredible song.
'Sonny' - Fucking awesome song.

It's kind of weird because I don't pay attention to a single record label apart from Drive-Thru. I mean, I listen to a lot of bands from other labels than Drive-Thru, but I don't really think much about what label they're on. On the other hand, I'm a total Drive-Thru whore. I admit that I don't like the general trends they've got going lately, which would be their signing only bands such as The Early November, Senses Fail, and Hidden in Plain View, as opposed to going back towards their pop-punk roots. However, even though I don't like the trend, I still love those three bands. I'm such a Drive-Thru addict that I have my Drive-Thru cds seperate from the rest of my CDs, and the Drive-Thru ones make up almost half of my collection of punk CDs. In fact, I've not heard a single Drive-Thru band that I dislike. I used to not like Steel Train (even though I always respected them as musicians and for being something different), but after a while and a few more listens they really grew on me, and now sometimes I'll be in the mood to throw them on and crank them up.
I disagree with you on this one, Alex. New Found Glory are one of the best pop-punk bands out there. Meh, I really like New Found Glory, what can I say?I too am one who was introduced to the scene by this amazing band. During different times of the year, I'm in different moods, and so periodically the bands that spend the most time in my CD player change from season-to-season, but even if I go for too long without listening to New Found Glory, they always end up returning and reminding me why I love them so much. For this reason, they are my favorite band, and I think they probably always will be.
In the business aspect, I have heard not-so-good things about how they treat their bands. I'm just saying what I've heard. Maybe it's rumors, I don't know, but these things were said in a few interviews in magazines over the past year. That doesn't sound right to me. I've never heard anything but praise for Drive-Thru from their bands. Except for Midtown, but that's an obvious exception. Even Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional) doesn't shit-talk Drive-Thru. This leads me to believe that Drive-Thru is nothing short of amazing to their bands.
I think nfg considers them part of MCA or Geffen or whatever. And I think Drive-thru is a division of MCA. I'm not too sure though. Not true. During the days of MCA, Drive-Thru made a distribution deal with MCA, so that they would distribute all Drive-Thru CDs and they co-signed New Found Glory, Fenix Tx, Finch, Something Corporate, (and I believe Midtown, I could be wrong though). Once Geffen replaced MCA, the relationship probably changed somewhat and I don't know all the details of that, but MCA never owned Drive-Thru, nor was Drive-Thru a division of MCA. They just had a distribution deal and a few co-signed bands.
