Tom Petty & Tenacious D

I was too lazy to post two separate threads for this so I just decided to ask you your opinion on two different bands. I LOVE Tom Petty. His music kicks ass. Tenacious D is just plain hilarious. Your thoughts?

Tenacious D is freaking funny, my roommate in college did an entire skit to "F* You Discretly" (I'm not sure if that is the real title of the song or not, but darnit, it is funny)
Tom Petty is a genius. I heard him described once as an "on key Bob Dylan", I thought that was perfect. I have a lot of respect for Petty.

It's "Fuck Her Gently". I love The D. They need a new album. I played out the last one. Tom Petty has a few ok songs. I'm not a fan.

i don't understand how?? nobody takes tenacious d seriously so i really don't even consider them a band but there is no way you don't think they are funny. & tom petty makes great music period.

i saww the d live with weezer and JEW a couple years ago. it was the funniest concert ive ever been to. you gotta hear them make fun of chop suey by system of a down. ahhh good times...
