I'm not too knowledgeable on this band, but I have enjoyed 'Team Boo' for some time, and am intrigued by the new album.
Discuss this band. now. go.

Ah, the male/female vocal dynamic. Can't say I'm a huge fan though.

Too fun and goofy in a cutsie-indie way for me to pass up :-)
I'm working on getting a hold of the new album, which is supposedly a lot more "domesticated" (according to the ALMIGHTY PITCHFORK)... which I'm guessing means boring...

"Domesticated" really isn't the most flattering adjective to describe an album. Didn't Pitchfork slam the new album though?

They gave it like a 5.2

That's not as bad as I thought.
Bob, I'm assuming you're already familiar with Page France but in the slim chance that you're not, give Hello, Dear Wind a spin. Can see you enjoying it.

That's what I mean. They gave it a 5.2 and slapped that tag on it. Their main complaint is that Kori plays piano instead of keyboard a lot. I could see that changing their sound, but the song for streaming on their myspace is really good.
and I've given Page France a passing listen, perhaps I shall re-take them up.

Piano actually sounds more appealing to me than keyboard. I'll look into the latest album.
edit: myspace song didn't do much for me haha

I've had Team Boo for quite a while but never looked into getting anything else. Anyone got an idea where to go next?

I have enjoyed the new album. In a, sugary sweet, make me giddy, sort of way.

I just looked at AP's front page (for the first time in pretty much forever,) and saw that Mates of State are the featured artist.
...I hate my life...

The new album is super accessible, but i love it anyway. MoS never make bad music, its fact.
Can't wait to see em at Lolla.

It's not like Mates Of State were this remarkably inaccessible band beforehand.

I've seen Mates of State twice. It was exactly what you'd expect it to be. A really happy, colorful dance party. One of the more fun shows I've seen. If I remember correctly they played La'Hov both times, and that's my favorite song, so I was pumped.

there's only so inaccessible two hot married people singing sugar-coated drum'n'keys pop can be.
