I will never be able to get into chick-fronted bands, don't know why. Closest thing to a girl-fronted band that I like is Straylight Run.

Maybe its because if I ever want to hear vocals in that octave I can just listen to Coheed and Cambria... which will always completely own any chick bands currently out there... and most guy-fronted bands as well.

i think they sound pretty good...they're the best all-girl group that i've heard in a long time. I think some of you need to be more open minded about female vocals. I used to be that way but eventually I grew out of it after listening to The Rocking Horse Winner and Rilo Kiley. PS - the one in the striped shirt is pretty hot. :monkey: :stormtroo

I don't really care for girl bands either... especially The Donnas. ick. I do like some girl singers though (Alanis Morissette) and 1 or 2 girl-fronted bands (No Doubt).
I would like the Distillers but sometimes Brody pisses me off so much... she seems to try so hard to look and act a certain way.

And not that I really care what the Jinxed girls look like, but that blonde chick needs to get rid of the bangs and the other girl needs to get rid of those highlights.

Actually...the drummer's dad helps them write their songs. The family owns a little studio, and they've always gotten this same attention in our area.

Jenna (the drummer) always used to talk about how hard she had to work for her "pink sparkly drums" she wanted so much...when her dad is a drum teacher and got at quite a discount price, and paid for most of it.

From seeing them so much, I think Kristin is a good guitar player, but that's about all they have going for them.

They've been nothing but nice to me, but a lot of people tell me how sneaky they've been to them, so I don't know.

They definitely don't deserve all of this attention, though.

im from the area this band is from, have seen then perform, never bother to talk to them face to face but i haved heard things from people about them, not very flattering things either. no reason to go in depth. this is about music correct? well they flat out suck. its sad seeing them getting so much attention when their are people who have worked harder than they have for years on end and got nothing for it. The person who runs that 111 label, a member of LFO just saw money in them, simple. you see a girl band like the donnas get played all over mtv and people think " shit, we can capitalize on this". if you want to hear something good from the area check out Last Conservative , or This Day and Age.
But to support jinxed is a kick in the face to music, they are equivilent of avril but with three members.

alright, im also from the area, and ive seen them perform. they arent good. at all. they need everyone else to help them tune their instruments. they had the drums and bass wayyyy too loud and you could barely hear the guitar/vocals. and on top of all this, they have no energy whatsoever, and the songs suck. they can play their instruments, and thats about the only good thing you can say about them. it sort of pisses me off, because ive heard nothing about them at all until i saw them. and then a band like wideofthemark, whos been around for at least 3 years, and they bust their asses to get heard, get no media from ap at all. THEY should be the band thats getting attention. they have awesome stage presence, awesome songs, and they can play instruments 10 times better than jinxed.

and i reeeeally dont like girl vocals/bands all that much. maybe its because all the ones ive seen (with the exception of brody) really just suck.

I was the person that got them signed them to 111.. it was over a year ago.. and it had NOTHING to do with capitalizing.. so clearly you know nothing. I saw them playing this show and i thought they had potential..

I have gone with them to many shows and they tune they're own instruments.. if their drum and bass are to loud that's not their fault idiot its the sound persons..

If i could help all of you, I would but it seems your eyes are stuck shut so tight you just might have to be relieved of your misery in this world in other ways. First off, every single person created in the entire world is completely different which leads to the word OPINION. All of the posts in this forum are your opinion and matter to noone but yourself and those who also have the same lack of brain waves. Knowing these girls more than anyone who has touched this website......you are all clearly relying on rumors and unknown facts to build your knowledge of this group. If this is a fun way to pass your useless lives (paying attention to a band that doesn't matter to you) you all have not even come close to being born into the world. If you don't like girl vocals, your opinion, keep it to yourself and move on, if you don't think their hot, also your opinion, keep it to yourself and move on. You'll notice some people agree with you and some people don't. Opinions are what differentiate things and no, not all people are exactly like YOU. What a sad place we would live in if they were. If these were facts you were posting and not opinions it might almost be interesting to waste time on.....seeing as they are all opinions you all must have the greatest lack of better things to do with yourself and i'm sorry you turned out this way. There are soooo many styles of music out there that i don't like but would gladly shake the hand of those who write it if that is what they work for and that is what they like. Maybe you can pass the time to start closed-minded records and sign the bands who are only good in YOUR OPINION. You would have everything you want and then you can die after living a wasted life. You don't know the man who signed them, you don't know why he signed them and there really is nothing you can do to change it but only satisfy yourself with your comments and those who reply.....it will not affect what the girls achieve or what happens to them. If you continue to observe this pattern during your life you will notice bands will always get signed that you don't like and you won't be able to change it.....so just ignore it! If it honestly hurts you then it is going to kill you because it won't ever end, whether it be for money or for talent, your useless posts on this useless website will NEVER change it. Bands like wide of the mark do try extremely hard and maybe do deserve some attention....but in realistic terms...they have to hit the spot that satisfies the opinion of the president of a record label. If they are not there yet, they are missing something that is needed to get there or they are just waiting for you to start a record company so you can say "in my opinion this band is really kool and they look kool on stage and i love them" until then....listen to and support who you like if you want to be happy. If you want to learn about jinxed and who they are come meet them and find out the work that they actually do. Wake up.
