If you've never heard any of these songs, download them ASAP and you'll realize why In Defense of the Genre is his weakest offering yet (although still a good album).
And I understand that technically some of these songs have been released, but when I say "B-side", I'm referring to basically any song that wasn't on Baseball, IARB, WARB, or IDOTG.

I had quite a wrestle between "Slumming", "Transylvanian", "Try to Remember, Forget", and "Presidential Suite".
But in the end, I had to go with "Slumming it With Johnny". Brilliant song.

Yes!
number 1 is A Boston Peace....then Slumming it with Johnny.
It's definitely NOT a walk through hell.
I'm so annoyed with that song.

I'll definitely agree with the last part. Overrated for sure.
I went with other because I really like Slumming it and the Presidential Suite, but I like Thoughts on a Liberal Education more.
Edit: completely forgot about Boston Peace. That's what I would have voted for.
none. this band is awful.

If you don't like Say Anything, pick the option of "I have a horrible taste in music"

what about a certain type of genius and/or the great awakening?
How recent is Try to Remember, Forget?
Jake's got woe

It was on the Menorah/Majorah EP, released in 2002.

You count songs on Menora as b-sides?

Walk Through Hell is just so fucking good.
It was on the Menorah/Majorah EP, released in 2002.
I checked it out later. It was okay, but nothing special. Most of Max's stuff pre-IARB is pretty marginal. Still But a Fleeting Illness by a long shot.
You count songs on Menora as b-sides?
Good call. They're really not.

I'm not suprised to see A Walk Through Hell winning, considering that's probably the only one of those most people have heard.
Me, I voted for Sappy. Such a sad song.

Real SA fans don't pick Walk Through Hell...therefore just eliminate all their votes.
So Slumming is winning.

But a Fleeting Illness no doubt about it. It was the first Say Anything song I heard in a CD that came with AP years ago. I have never gotten over the fact that it did not make it onto IARB.

Transylvanian for me, but if I had to make a list of his best B-sides, this list contains most of the ones I would recommend except Sappy which is one of the few songs I don't really care for all that much. Try to Remember was a close second.

Fleeting Illness is one of the greatest ballsy pop-rock songs ever and makes every other song he's ever written sound like wussy crap.
