I love Cobra Skullifornia bc it sounds like the Dead Kennedys
Also gotta love use your cobra skulls and charming the cobra...all the songs on that album kick ass...I saw them with WIFS Against ME! and Sage Francis

They did a sped up version of Cobracoustic last time I saw 'em and it was Cobratastic.
They also played a new song, which hopefully means there's a new album on the way. Fingers crossed.

Cobra And The Manwhore sounds much more Dead Kennedys-esque than Cobra Skullifornia, at least lyric wise. That and Don't Count Your Cobras Before They Hatch.

Six songs into American Rubicon and this is just okay.

After one listen, I can safely say that this is not better than Sitting Army. There are a few highlights ("H.D.U.I.", "Back to the Youth", "One Day I'll Never"), but other than that, it doesn't really do anything for me.
I think it's the lack of Cobras in the song titles.

No Cobras in the song titles. What a dissapointment.
About to put this on.

I love The Sounds new album, I think it's really good. Haven't listened to the new Cobra Skulls yet, I liked Sitting Army a lot so hopefully this will be a solid follow up.

Pre-order the new E.P. at Fat Wreck! (http://www.fatwreck.com/record/detail/764) Colored vinyl is already sold out. But their cover of "Give You Nothing" is on it. Now, if only we could hear that OWTH cover of "Sorrow."

The new EP rips, packs way more of punch than most of American Rubicon did.

Ditto. That vinyl went quickly! I'll be snagging the less special version. Haha.

Good to hear! These guys have great songwriting chops--but their live set always leaves a bit to be desired in terms of energy. Maybe they'll be picking it up! Y'know, like a ska ba--ugh. I hate myself.

Rad times! I'm glad that AP does this--it always lends itself to some interesting reading. Okay, maybe not always, but in cases like this one. Haha. Have you had a chance to sift through the album yet? With lyrics?
I've not been able to do it in full but I listened to a few samples on iTunes and was duly impressed! These guys keep crafting their songs better and better. Or maybe there were just some impressive 90 second clips! :-p

totally worth the track by track feature on a band like cobra skulls!(much more informative than this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeGGbYQ6ayg), lol)
and with 90 second clips, you heard a gooood chunk of the music! haha. it's good stuff. i like it. i kinda regret passing on the colored vinyl option at fat when that went up,but oh well. will grab a regular copy later. anyway, it's totally worth checking out!

Now I brag: I'm waiting for my copy in the mail haha. I won the front page contest they had about a week back, so I'm holding off until I get my package in the mail. Haha. Really, though, I was just going to ask you about a lyric because I can't find it on-line anywhere and it sounds like there's a reference to the Bosstones in track #3! At least uh, vocally anyway. I might be mishearing the word, hah. I feel silly when the happens...
Also: Have you seen the boys live before? I wish I liked them better live than I do. Not the most engaging band on the planet. :-/
