I found it convenient that when I bought my 52" Samsung TV, they gave me a free Blu-Ray player. Thus, I've started a blu-ray collection. I recommend Transformers and 300 in HD for starters.

Never realized how much money I wasted on TV on DVD until I looked around. 4 seasons of Reno 911, the first 2 seasons of House, All of the Chapelle's Show DVDs, Family Guy vol 1-5, the complete King of Queens, the first 2 seasons of HIMYM. I love it though.

I got one of those Up-convert DVD players... their output is 1080 so to me it looks just as good as Bluray would, and it only cost $90. I recommend it if you don't feel like dropping hundreds.
I got an LG, so it would work well with my LG TV.

most dvd's don't have inserts anymore. The last few that i've even gotten is some ad for some other crap. X-Copy platinum allows you to make an exact disc copy so you can get all special features. While you can't get cover art for most dvd's i don't really care about it. As long as the movie plays that's all that matters. I'd rather have a huge collection of movies than worry about dvd art

Classic raping of the consumer. I had big expectations for it aswell, since the Fight Club 2-Disc and Se7en 2-Discs sets are amazing. I thought Fincher would have more to do w/ the overall package, since it is a Directors Cut.

I figure this would be a good place to post this... Anyone in here have the first four Batman movies (Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin) and would be willing to sell them? And I thought I had a pretty good collection of dvds but looking at some of these I am highly put to shame.

No but Amazon undoubtedly has used ones for super cheap. When in doubt use Amazon for movies.

Mine were fucking perfect until I went to school and bought like 50 more and they are all scattered between 3 different houses, haha.

We used to have a spare room where i could show off everything...CD's, DvD, action figures...Hell I had a Reservoir Dogs poster collection over the fire place. Then we moved and my wife decide to strut her authority, and relegated me and my stuff to the basement and cabinets. Basically taking all the fun out of collecting.:-(

Ya I'm kind of the same way. If you take out tv shows I've got like 5 movies that were released in the last 5 years, most of mine are from '95 to 2002. I've kind of found that once I buy a movie i tend to never want to watch it again....so I tend to just watch them on TV.

I used to have a lot more when I worked at FYE.. It seemed like I bought a new DVD every night when I worked there. I ended up selling a bunch when I quit though.

between my gf and i we have about 300+ dvds. our collection hardly has grown any since we got netflix

I have about 450-ish dvds but since I got netflix I pretty much stopped buying. I used to buy at least one movie a week, usually more but netflix has saved me so much money, and I don't have to worry about paying $10-$20 for something I don't like anymore.
