It's called "we are cheap and don't want to pay for marketing so we will take advantage of the mindless kids who worship us and get them to do the work for free"
Band's need street teams. Record labels do not, they are fucking business, and promotion is a cost of being in that business.
there are plenty of people who don't know of drive thru records. Just becuase you only hang out with kids that do doesn't mean that everyone does.

Yeah, i agree. I can name tons of people that don't know of DTR. And what's so bad about promoting a label?

ive been helping promote DTR as part of their street team for almost a yr now and theyve been nothing but great to me. as for the whole...bands need help not labels.... its the bands that we are promoting. not the label. we are in charge of getting the word out about specific bands each time. and if you all paid attention there are a shit load of new DTR bands just added and they will be needing some ppl out there to promote them as well. so yeah, i dont know. they treat their street teamers well, so anyone interested should try. theyve been great to me!

well theyve gotten me into countless DTR shows for free. they sent me 4 songs from the early november cd before the cd was released. they send you stickers and posters and stuff to pass out and hang up, and you can always keep a few stickers for yourself if thats your thing. so yeah. treat me well. i love helpin them out. and its not about what i get in return, i have a blast street teaming.
