the sun is setting fire is early December
as I hit the road
and 10 months I'll be gone
to be back, to be home
coming into an empty house won't satisfy enough
we're both making this harder and it's getting too much

one end of this country to another
I'll find you in there somewhere
and if only you'd come along
or just stay home,
if only we didn't go (but I have to go)

1. "December's End" is just a working title

2. Where it says "as I hit the road", when first writing the line it was "we" instead of "I" but for the song it was changed

3. This is rough but I like how it turned out. I know I will fix it up in time

4. The second time "just let it all out for me" is said, it may be changed to "I wish I could bring it all in for you" or something to reverse (I guess) what is being said the first time around
