Does Obama even have creditials or just big names supporting him? Cause as far as I know he is just a good public speaker that hasn't proved himself in any political job. I've listen to his speeches and that man could sell fleas to a dog with how persuasive he is but I'm afraid that's all he has going for him. Then again, I haven't really followed the election that well...

Experience is the most useless "attribute" that exists.
A good analogy would be the San Antonio Spurs.
They didn't win titles because they were "experienced"...it's because they were better than other teams that they played against.
I'm sorry to all you hardcore kids that don't follow sports, but I think that's a good analogy.

I don't think we should write the Americans off - there's been a lot of passionate support for Obama, and at least three polls currently put him ahead of McCain. All he needs is to clarify his policies and appoint a strong VP candidate, and he just might keep this lead.

I know many many white people who have "endorsed" Obama, so I don't know where you get your facts from.. This is exactly why this Democratic Nomination is a sham, because it is all about color.. Especially with your ignorant remarks.
This campaign is NOT about race, well maybe to you it is, but it is about the BEST candidate who can lead this country.. If anything, this campaign has been about race to the men and women of color.

I'm sorry, are you a person of color? You're not?? Okay.
Are you aware that during the Reagan administration, crack/cocaine was intentionally placed in poor minority neighborhoods? How about the fact that HIV-AIDS was also introduced into those same neighborhoods?? Flash foward to hurricane katrina. Need I say more?
Do you watch the news? You do?? Then you're obviously aware of the hateful treatment that mexicans and muslims receive all across this country; When you're at war (for oil) and your national economy is collapsing, it's easy to divert peoples attention with race based fear mongering.
I never said that it was impossible for a white person to endorse obama. Like you, I know many who do. All I suggested was that to minorities, electing a black president MEANS MORE because of what we've had to endure. There are A LOT of people on the Obama "bandwagon" right now, whites and non-whites alike. The non-whites will stay there, that I know for sure. It's the whites that are more likely to jump off. If you don't believe that, you're not paying attention.

I really hope McCain doesn't win because I feel like he's going to carry on the same foreign policy agenda as Bush..and look where that got us..he just seems like another one of those politicians who are too quick to jump to war to resolve issues instead of using diplomacy..and tbh that kind of scares me..I mean I don't know much about the man, but that's just my impression of him. Obama just seems to bring change to the table and that's what the white house needs right now.

Exactly.
Obama is a barely a liberal, he's a conservative by any kind of world standards. He's too conservative for our conservative party.
in terms of American politics h's more liberal than most elected officials. I can't really comment in terms of European politics because i don't know enough about it
America in general is an extremely conservative country and as the parameters of liberalism/conservatism were desgined with world politics in mind he's still very much a conservative.

You don't know what you are talking about.
I'm not gonna sit here and get in a Bible discussion but bravo on sitting and picking apart the Bible jsut to make your point. If you read in the New Testament it says that the traditions of the Old Testament went away when Christ died (Hence why we don't sacrifice animals on altars anymore because Jesus wsas the ultimate sacrifice). Don't just sit there and pick and choose what you want to read just to try and make it look like you know what you are talking about.

I'm fairly certain that anyone even wanting to approach the argument of homosexuality needs to be well read on on Leviticus. So to say that he is sitting there "picking thru the bible to make his point", that's bull. I'm sure if he wanted to, he could sit and find more, but Leviticus is something most anyone making this argument already knows. However, as to your second point, I agree it is a bit hypocritical, as in the New Testament, Jesus preaches forgiveness and tolerance. I'm not about to get into a debate on religion here, but anyone even remotely familiar with the bible knows that that book is full of contradictions. Hell, even the first two chapters of genesis (both stories of creation) completely contradict each other.

Bible Quote 1: Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. - Leviticus 18:22
Bible Quote 2: If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. - Leviticus 20:13.
The bible may not tell you to hate gays, but it surely tells you that they need to be put to death. If you truly believe in the Bible, then this is what you believe in.
You don't know what you are talking about.
Think whatever you want to, you go ahead and kill homosexuals, I'll go ahead and hope the best for them. Not to mention hoping that they avoid you. Thanks for that though...
Yes. And?

I don't know why you're acting like he randomly put that in there. It does say something to that effect.

I agree with you. I know Leviticus and was just pointing out that it is incredibly easy to pick and choose what you want the Bible to say, if that makes sense.

It wouldn't make sense for me to post the entire Bible to make my point. I quoted what was relevant to the point I'm trying to make. You should do the same. And I do know what I'm talking about.

Also - I really don't think this makes sense (not trying to be rude). If you read Leviticus, what it says is very specific. Anyway, what would be the point of making the Bible's meaning "incredibly east to pick and choose what you want it to say". Why would you follow and place all your faith in something that is misleading...on purpose?

Thanks for that though...Why would I kill homosexuals? If your hoping they avoid me, you must be under the impression that I believe the teachings of the Bible. I don't. alright. me along with 90% of the people on this site know little about politics.
people our age all praise obama without knowing anything about him.
i see a kid and he will be like "yeah man! obama for pres!"
i will ask "why?" and that kid will have no follow up.
i know it's silly but i have talked to people just like that who thought obama was running against hilary for president.
i would mention mccain and they would be like "uhh. who?"
now for me.
im not following this race.
i dont know anything about obama
on the other hand. i remember reading about mccain while the 04 election was going on.
i have time to read up before its november.
but in all honesty i think this race is going to mccain.
i agree with you, it's all these follower kids who know that it's hip to hate bush, hate republicans and vote for Obama

As a man of color, i don't think white people will legitimately endorse Obama when the chips are down. They may be on the bandwagon now, but without knowing our struggle, I just don't see how his appeal will stay strong...
shut the fuck up. i am half mexican, half irish, no "color" in me at all. i do not give a fuck about what you look like. racism has been a big deal for a long time, but it will never go away until everyone lets it go. i voted obama in the primary not because he is black and i want to feel less racist; i voted for him because john mccain is a sick old fuck and hilary has no soul.

I want Obama to win, but I don't think he will win enough southern states. He has a chance IF he can win over the more conservative democrats (the ones that supported Hilary). Unfortunately, he will lose some of the democrats to McCain. If Bob Barr chooses to run, McCain would lose votes to Barr, which would ultimately help Obama.
