So true. I think I fall into the latter category. I really do think they're pretty catchy, except there are a couple of songs that I fucking hate, like "My Alien". Holy God that song is repulsive.

Ok I finally give this an answer...

I use to like Simple Plan and I have their cd somewhere in my room. But as time went by I discovered more and more bands. Bands that just mattered more to me. Somewhere in the mix they got lost. I'll probably buy their next cd if they shape up and do something different about their music but the odd are not high on that one. So there.

I will say that I do enjoy Simple Plan and their tunes are pretty catchy although it does get annoying after a while hearing it over and over and over again on the radio. They're not one of my favorite ever though, I really enjoyed their CD when I first burned it, but it's just been sitting in my cd holder for the past 3+ months and hasn't been played in a while. It's definately good the first couple plays, but after that it gets old. Oh, and the "My Alien" song as funny as it may seems, is pretty stupid. Oh, and on another note...the guy with the fauxhawk in the band should stop wearing the pink eyeliner...lol :)

I don't mind Simple Plan... they're good now and then but if you have to listen to them all the time they get annoying which is why for once I'm glad I live in the U.K. they have only just come onto our music channels here and they're a long way off from being on the radio so we don't hear too much out of them.

Bah, it's comments like this that make my blood boil.

1) Good Charlotte was always commercial. Their debut record was on Epic (which is Sony Music, one of the BIGGEST corporations) in the world. So there was no supposed "underground" period. The band played around the DC area, got signed, put out two albums and are where they are today. (By the way, I like Good Charlotte, and no, I'm not a 14-year-old girl).

2) Similar story for Simple Plan, sure they were in a band called Reset that more of the "punks" liked but disbanded and a lot of the members of Reset formed Simple Plan. Again their debut (important word here, reread if you still understand) record came out on Atlantic Records part of Warner Music Group which was owned by Time Warner for a long time (recently Time Warner sold them I think). So, again, there was no "underground" period.

3) This whole "Simple Plan Sux bcuz thy r sllouts" is just tired. Who really cares? Everyone who picks up a guitar and puts out a record wants to be heard. And what did they "sell out" from? They've been promoting the same fucking record for two years. Oh and by the way, so what if your band has been on an indie label for a long time (Pennywise and NOFX fans, I'm looking at you). What's so "punk" about traveling in big tour buses, havin OTHER PEOPLE set up your gear and having OTHER PEOPLE sell your merch. In reality, is their really any difference between a Pennywise concert and a big Bon Jovi show? Not really (besides venue size mainly). Lights go down, band goes on, crowd cheers, etc. Guess it isn't as cool as we once thought it was, now is it?
