I used to really be into Superchunk.

Does anyone know what they're up to if anything these days?

If I'm not mistaken, they're still touring every once in a while. If I remember correctly, they did a big tour a few years ago. Mac also has a side project with Jim Wilbur called Portastic, which is pretty cool. Superchunk also came out with a rarities album in '03 and a live album in '04.

While I can't say I've ever gotten a hold on one of their albums, I've heard some of their stuff through Youtube/Proj Playlist. From what I've heard, I really like them.

I recently was introduced to Superchunk and I like it. I was wondering if there are any albums in particular I should listen to first?

On The Mouth, Foolish, or Here's Where The Strings Come In are all good places to start. In fact, get them in that order! Haha.

Majesty Shredding was one of my faves from last year, also. Such a great album. My Gap Feels Weird definitely sums up how it feels as a 29 year old music fan going to shows nowdays. Guys playing with their ultra-styled hair every 10 seconds, and those tiny cuffed shorts? I feel so out of touch sometimes, haha.

I am going to see them in Chapel Hill in a couple months. I am excited.

I can't believe I've never listened to this band. I've been meaning to after hearing the name dropped quite a few times, but I guess there's no time like the present. Downloading On The Mouth right now.

SanePsychotic and I need help! where does one begin in the Superchunk catalog? what is their best? what is their worst? when is their "best era"? etc etc etc.

I'm no expert (I still have a lot to hear from them) but the consensus I've heard from move of the people I asked was No Pocky for Kitty.
