But I would completely agree that Nickelback is better than 90% of the bands people in this forum get their panties wet over, because most of it is pretty poor quality music, and at that point you have to give the nod to Nickelback because at least they're managing to make money off of it, instead of traveling the country in a shitty van to go play terrible music at shows.

Alot of the bands I listen to and love could be classified as "pop-punk" (ie Larry Arms, Alk3, No Use for a Name, Lagwagon, etc), so it'd be kind of a lie if I were to say I'm sick of hearing about pop-punk, but when it comes to the bands this site is constantly covering...ugh.

While I spearheaded the argument, I can't agree with this rationale. The criteria for Nickelback being superior to scene trash far exceed which party makes a greater profit from the mediocre music in question.

My Gosh, I saw these guys on their UK Dark Horse tour in Sheffield and they were awesome! Their support band, Black Stone Cherry were great and the lead singer did a cover of AC/DCs, Highway to Hell with the guys, which was amazing!! They also did a Kings of Leon cover... overall an amazing band! Great fan of their older stuff, I have to say :thumbup:

I agree Nickelback is probably the best rock band of our time. I don't like them but I respect them. I didn't respect them for a long time either. I have a band called Athel and as much as I hate to admit it alot of people say we sound a bit like Nickelback. I know how hard we try to make a living at this and its so tough and to see a band like Nickelback become such icons is an inspiration everyday to me. Also Chad has to be the best modern rock vocalist to be around. He sounds incredible. It's pretty awesome. check us out if you have time
