View Full Version : Should +44 make it official and become Blink-182(reformed)???

you know, I say why not??? It's not like Mark & Travis wanted to end it, Tom quit, and yeah he was a big part of it, but why should they be punished for his actions? I mean they're playing blink songs live, and while +44's music is stylistically diffrent than alot of blink stuff, they should be able to dable into both their roots as well as new territories at the same time without having to masquerade as someone else. Mark and Travis stayed togather and thefore I say the music and title belongs to them.

and with that said, when Tom finally wises up, he can go back and then they can have an "original line-up Renunion"(and no i dont need to be correted on scott being the original drummer)

but I say let them be the "reformed" Blink-182

No.

no. it just wouldnt feel right. it would feel like they are trying to live in the past, and id much rather just have them write music than try to be someone they used to be. blink-182 = mark, tom, and travis. no "replacements" allowed.

No, it's a completely new band. Blink 182 will never come back, no matter how much you hope they will.

Two words : Van Hagar. It wouldn't be the same without Tom in there.

Dumb question. Not unless Tom joins.

tom is just as important to that group as the other two... replacing him wouldn't work

Blink isn't Blink without Tom. No matter how much of a douchenozzle he's turned into.

"You know, we could have just replaced him, like every other band does when a member quits, and continued as Blink 182, but we didn't, because that wouldn't be Blink" - Mark Hoppus, (Doing it by memory, it may be off by a word or two)

I would be ok with the opposite happening: blink-182 coming back together as Mark, Tom, and Travis, and them playing blink, Box Car, +44, and Angels songs.

Are you fucking kidding me.

Blink has to be Mark and Tom. The drummer can be Scott or Travis, the heart is still Mark and Tom.

EDIT: The closest thing to a reunion I'd let +44 get is them playing "Family Reunion."

no way. you need Tom, end of story.

Well Tom pisses me off personally, so it could work. I've never really listened to either band anyway.

Try listening to a new band. There are some good ones out there to obsess over, and they are still together!

Who would replace Tom? Jesus?

i agree. most think tom is a dick now, but he definitely could craft a good song when his head was on straight, which i think mark and travis helped him do; they helped keep his thinking on track. his handprints are all over the final untitled cd more than anyone (ie he sings way more than mark, while is relegated to just shouting out the title in 4 songs), but in my eyes, it's their best one. it's a shame they fell apart, because i think they were one more cd away from something even more amazing.

isn't that what's already going on? since they were on the blink records they've got rights to play the songs with whoever else they want. which they do.

hockeyguitar99

how would he own the rights to blink???

normally, one person in the band owns the rights to the name. So, a lot of the times, when frontmen die or leave they have to change the name of the band because they person that died or left owns the rights.

If Rage Against the Machine can come back, anything is possible.. It took them 7 years, but it happened.. So give it a rest for now..
