i bought Translating the name about 2 months ago, and wow, this band is waaaaay overrated. there are so many other bands that sound like them that are better.

Open Hand, considering some of the members of Saosin have been in it... Um try Matchbook Romance, From.First.To.Last., Trustkill bands, and a local band from Rochester called Renouf (http://www.renoufmusic.com). Anatomy of a Ghost, Planes Mistaken For Stars, and Bear Vs. Shark don't really sound like them too much, but they are kind of similar. And if the thing you like about Saosin is you can't understand a damn thing they say over the screaming, try some old Mudvayne. ;)

its one thing to disagree with the bands sound, but to sit there and complain about how you think that they sound like those other bands is pretty wierd. i dont really see your comparison to those bands. i mean i do see it in a broad point of view, viewing all genres of music, but in fine detail, you cant be serious are you?

maledixtion i like most of the bands you named excpet for PMFS and bear vs shark. but i think saosin is better than those bands. and i don't think they sound like any of those i mean maybe a little open hand but thats obvious why.

i wasn't complaining that Saosin should sound like those bands at all. I was giving FarFromSafe some similar sounding bands because he asked.
