post some bands today where you can tell their music is influenced by the early/mid 90s era grunge/stoner/rock/jam/etc Helmet, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Kyuss etc type feel.

i.e.

I know it is probably a hard and specific rec, and most people probably will swing and a miss, but some might hit it.

If you looked at the Grunge thread it seems like most people here don't like 90's music at all unless it is Weezer or something Punk.

have faith young one, and plus this is not about those bands, this about bands today in the music scene this website is based loosely upon with those influences, if you click the two bands I provided you can hear how they had their own twist to their influences, which I am really addicted to and am curious if there are more bands like that out there...

90s had hands down the best music of any decade. I mean, 80s gives it a run for its money but most of the best records of all time came from the 1990s

that's a cute fun opinion. how about some recs?

I really love this thread and and agree with it. I still think there's always good music to be made, but to me, a lot of the emotions I felt in the late 90's from bands still around or who'd started in the mid or early 90's were gone after that time(from a lot of others, too). Lots of bands changed their sounds or dissolved their sound.

Revival Records? I dunno off the top of my head grunge revival isn't something I actively seek out.

I was down for anything influenced by 90s stuff like grunge and stoner.

It is easy to find any run of the mill cookie cutter shit present hardcore band influenced by 90s hardcore ala to the point where they rip and steal shit straight from bands, so I figured there could bands out there doing the same to other genres.

For Science sorta does it?

I dunno, I don't see how a band doing this could be called "Cookie Cutter" at all but ok.

I didn't say a band doing this today could be cookie cutter. I said hardcore bands today are cookie cutter hype shit. See Deathwish and B9 rosters respectfully.

Wow.
Wow what, its true unless you were just talking about Grunge which pretty much is the main type of 90's music?

Wow as in that's a ridiculous generalization. Craig certainly has quite a few 90s releases on his favorites that aren't classified as "punk". Same goes for Ben I'm sure. Jumpoff likely has hip hop and r&b albums as tops for the decade. Hell, I don't have a single punk release as a favorite for any era and I quite enjoyed the 90s.

Just listen to some Jesus Lizard mike.

I know just listen to some Jesus Lizard, Neurosis, Seaweed, etc etc... the list goes on. But I was looking for bands today doing any style that weren't around in the 90s... like those bands are so good because they are from the 90s. Which is why I was interested in bands ripping them off/taking them as influences, that you can clearly hear in the music.
