View Full Version : Start Static

A Static Lullaby has been busy writing new songs and practicing for their upcoming tour. Some of the new songs are called:
"Half Man, Half Shark Equals One Perfect Gentlemen"
"Bear a-Na, Na"
"The BUSH Song" (not like tasty bush, not like George Bush, like Bush the band)
"Dancy"
"F**king, Can't Finish"
if the singer wasnt an ass hole and if they wrote good lyrics, they would be a good band

will titles like this a static lullaby will have no problem making an album worse then the last one(if that's possible).
i have a feeling some of the kids that will be hating on this band now are thier ex fans who are moving onto the next thing in music(whatever that maybe) and bashing screamo like they always hated it. i for one dont hate some of the bands labeled "screamo" but this band always sucked no denying it.
i love scremo its awesome, but this band truely brings the suck

So tell me you geniuses, name some albums of this type (use "screamo" if you must) that are better. And if you try to say Blindside's "Silence," Beloved's "Failure On," Haste's "The Mercury Lift," Dead Poetic's "Four Wall Blacmail," etc., etc. (all of which are good albums, by the way) I'll argue it's probably better than most of them, if not all. I get the feeling some dumbasses are pre-judging them based on a commonly used "Screamo" label for them, which I don't really agree with anyways. Find a bad song on that album...back up your opinions with something other than "they suck." And basing an opinion on a label makes you a dipshit, by the way; so I wouldn't bring that argument to the table. I listen to more hardcore and metal than probably most of you, but who the fuck cares? Music is music. Good music is good music, whether it be punk, rock, hardcore, metalcore, whatever. This album is good, period. If you disagree, I argue you're wrong, objectively. Period.

I cant wait to hear what they sound like...I love ASL and how can you say the singer is asshole? If you are referring to Joe then I have no clue what you are talking about.

It does seem like the cool thing to hate them now, but a lot of people, like myself, have real reasons to think they are disgusting. Their music is pretty decent, but it's made by a bunch of jerks and frankly, I don't care to support that.

"Hard" releases?? HAHAHAHAHA. Now, I understand "best" is something that can be argued (I wouldn't say it was one of the best, either) but in a year with releases by Hatebreed, Shai Hulud, Poison the Well, Most Precious Blood, Throwdown, Nora, Stretch Arm Strong, Premonitions of War, and Lamb of God (to mention a few) you call ASL's releases HARD? hahahahahahaha...hahahaha
to foreverfallen
reason ASL blows
listen to the lyrics (i use that word losely) to "shooting star that destroyed us all" they are horrible. Its one thing ot be in a band and not have good lyrics, but these guys try so hard to write good lyrics and its painfully obvious they suck ass

and is the lead singer Joe or Dan??? i always get confused as to who the "asshole" is.

ProblemWithFire, your idiocy is just unbelivable. Yes, I called it a hard release because I did not want to label them as screamo or some dumb spur-of-the-moment label that changes meaning everyday. Then you go on to name a bunch of CDs to show how obviously "hardcore" you are. Excuse me, I didn't know I was dealing with such a hxc kid, my bad. Stupidity like this makes me wonder what the hell is going on here. I own every single CD by every single band you listed. "Oh, oh, I'm so hxc, I listen to Lamb of God." God, people, think before you write something dumb like that. What would you classify it as, seeing as I should bow down to your all-mighty knowledge of music omniscient one. I mean, what the fuck are you trying to prove? I'm listening to Converge's Jane Doe as I write this? SO FUCKING WHAT? Yeah, it was a "hard" release, deal with it. It certainly wasn't anywhere near as hard as many of the CDs I own (more than you). And Hatebreed was such a lame choice for bands to pick if your trying to be so hxc dumbass...they get boring so quickly...oh no, your hxc image is in question. It's fuckers like you who listen to hardcore and metalcore that piss me off; you do it for the image instead of them music: how sad. You could name all your hardest CDs and I probably own all of them and more...love music for what it is, not a label. And stop trying to push a hxc image, you fucktard. You make me sick. But yes, Poison the Well owns...not much touches Opposite of December.
Bottom line: Don't make an argument where there isn't one just to appear something that you're not. It's lame and boring. If you want to argue with me on the merits of ASL's music, fine, I'm game...or any other band for that matter. But quit the "I'm more hardcore than you" bullshit. Lame kids.

I can't fucking believe you love blink so much yet you make fun of ASL lyrics. And who the fuck cares if the band are assholes. It's not like most of us who listen to them know them personally. I think this is a great album one of the best hardcores(SO sorry if that offends you) that I own.
Aren't you the same person who called Falloutboy lyrics a replica of TBS, since when the fuck are you such an expert on lyrics.

thanks for trying foreverfallen but it is useless here to actually have a brain. I think half this site is devoted to fiting each band into a specific genre. just listen to the fucking music if it's good it's good if it's not it's not but stop getting so worked up when someone calls a band you think is screamo or emocore or hardcore or whatever something else. IT'S NOT THAT IMPORTANT!!!

i totally agree, and i agree with what As Derrick Rust said too. i'm sure all you people loved this band and thought they were great, but now since people are starting to diss, now everybody has to. i thought the first cd was great and i'll probably check out the new one too. i know the titles sound pretty cheesy, but you havent even heard the damn songs yet. so shut the fuck up for a while and quit tryin to please everyone else.
Actually, it's the cool thing to hate them NOW, but whatever, I loved the full-length.

Forever Fallen,
That was a great rant you went on. I don't even own Lamb of God's album, you stupid fuck. Your assumptions are baseless and humorous. it's funny how you called me a "hardcore" kid, seeing as I'm the farthest thing from it, nor do I subscribe to scenester fashion trends, but you know it all, don't you? I'm glad that you told me what CDs you own, what you were listening to, and the like. That's great. Good for you. Comments like "your hxc image is in question and "stop trying to push a hxc image, you fucktard" are ridiculous!! Hell, a few of my most favorite bands are Whippersnapper, Park, and Inspection 12 (along with bands like Shai Hulud and Stretch Arm Strong) Those bands are totally hardcore, huh? Uh oh! "love music for what it is, not a label" I couldn't agree more with you about that. You've painted a complete false picture of me. I was simply stating that ASL's 2003 release wasn't a "hard" album. So, go on, type up some huge, long, rebuttal and blah blah blah...go fuck yourself.
Opposite of December does rule; you're right.

you people complain too much. ASL kicks ass.
yea pretty much. :cheeky:
Never met the guys in the band,Ive heard they were dicks but whatever,I'll judge when i meet them. They're music is amazing,i dont really consider them screamo,I think they're above all of it,they really know their stuff, amazing amazing band i say and i love those titles you have listed, best ive seen in awhile, and they always have good ones. But i gurantee they wont use any of those titles when the c.d comes out. Yes,this one is directed you "those titles suck" people. When you're in a studio, alot of the time bands dont just have the real title on hand, you just throw something out like "hey that one 80's song" for example, and it becomes a working title (and sticks if you're blink-182 a few years back) *thumbs up*

I'm just going to agree with EVERYTHING that FOREVER FALLEN said.
Why is it that everyone on almost every messageboard get into lame ass fights over classifying labels? It's pointless. And gay, too.
Second, I'm fucking proud to say ASL is my favorite band. I've seen them 6X... I don't laugh and bitch about news posted on other bands just because it's not my style. I love all music... so have some fucking respect.
They're not ass holes, anyways. Dan is probably the coolest guy ever.
