So, I graduated with a degree in computer science from a school with a respected (somehow--it's totally incompetent and outdated, in reality) computer science program.

Anyone else out there graduate with a BS in CS? Any ideas on where to work, or job functions/titles? Our school doesn't have a CS career adviser, so I'm completely on my own. I'd like to do anything with my degree that doesn't involve programming, but if that's the only thing I can do with a CS degree then I'll have to do it.

Any advice is much, much appreciated.

The company I work for uses alot of Software Engineers and web developers to help our jobs alot easier.

i'm a junior working on a cs major right now.
doesn't really help. just saying

but if you don't want to program, you shouldn't have to program. there is SO much stuff out there for people like us. maybe networking or internet security if you are into that stuff.

i'm really into web myself, both the fundamental stuff in the background and the design elements (which don't really click with the rest of my classmates).

Web Developers, Consulting, Databasing are definitely the most common.
I'm an Informatics major, which is very similar to CS, with a concentration in 3D arts,
so I'm looking for jobs in a slightly different field but I'll probably look for a DB/Consulting job when I graduate and do 3D freelancing to gain some experience before I look for one of those jobs.

yeah so if you're familiar with consulting or some HTML, SQL, PHP, XML... those would be your best bet, along with web security. Programming sucks, I know. I hate it but I'd definitely would like to get more familiar with Perl, Python or something similar
