Disturbed's latest album Indestructible has captured the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart beating out the other big rock debut, Weezer (The Red Album). According to Hits magazine (http://ultimate-guitar.com/news/video_news/disturbed_beats_weezer_on_billboard _charts.html#), a Billboard precursor chart magazine, the album has sold nearly 250,000 copies in its first week.
lawl. oh, how rock has suffered.

I don't understand some people. The newer Weezer albums have been nothing to go crazy over, but I would never expect to see Disturbed beating out Weezer.

"devon, dont go to heaven" lol wow thats actually pretty wicked considering how much i loved believe and down with the sickness
im not saying weezer is bad, but battle between disturbed and weezer i would have to go for disturbed, plus beverly hills was pretty annoying.

Hha, i find it funny, since Disturbed is complete crap ( i usually don't talk shit about bands but... Gah, it's Disturbed ). And i always thought, that Weezer was way more popular than Disturbed.

Not a big Disturbed fan, I actually dislike them a lot, but congrats to them.

I'm going to start with this: I loath both of these bands. Moving on; Why is this so surprising? Disturbed have sold nearly as many albums as Weezer while putting out only half the number Weezer has. Also, I'd say disturbed is a tad less marketable for radio whereas Weezer has a pop sensibility. With the way rock is dying out (from the mainstream at least) lets be glad for both bands having a successful first week.

I haven't really listened to either album (aside from the radio) but since Disturbed is loads more popular than Weezer this isn't too surprising. But for any band to sell that many records is an accomplishment in today's music industry.

That is because Disturbed's fans don't know how to use a computer therefore, they must buy the album. A large part of Weezer's fan base is computer savy and downloaded the album illegally.

I wouldn't say I was surprised, as much as repulsed. Disturbed is generic hillbilly rock while Weezer is quality, yet Disturbed sells significantly more. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY? Nevertheless, good for both bands having a big week.

Nooooooo!!!!!!! I really liked Weezer's new album and then this trash beats it. Well it isn't unexpected to me, lots of people who like metal jack off to this kind of shit.

Not exactly, a good portion of Disturbed's fans are geeks or otakus who love stuff like LP and Breaking Benjamin, and are perfectly capable of illegally downloading music.
They both suck, at least now.
Holy crap, Disturbed is still going!?

It doesn't surprise me, Myspace was jocking them all week, the radio stations play them all the time (well, the rock ones - though, "Pork and Beans" gets played a lot too), and they appeal to the country rednecks who think Disturbed is good music (see also: Creed, Nickelback, Kid Rock)... and they're going on tour with Slipknot this summer.

you guys do realize that the best selling album of 2k7 was the high school musical soundtrack...it doesn't surprise me at all that disturbed would hit number one on the charts. it's radio rock.
To listen to Disturbed you eithe have to be disturbed or a conservative.

but i'm too loyal a fan to ever do that to Weezer.
Disturbeds new album, is horrid.
I dislike it, a lot.
The Sickness was their best album, and only worthy album.

loses all credibility, right there.
loses all credibility, right there.
actually, depends what album it was.
If it was Master of Puppets, the credibility is not lost, but if it was St.Anger, he should die A.S.A.P
