The used are pretty fuckin cool - they're not hardcore at all and they'd pry be the first ones to tell u that... lyrically they're not incredible - but why does every band have to be intellectual and try to create the "best" lyrics - half the people on this board think brand new are lyrical geniuses when in reality they try way to hard with their lyrics and over did everything. when you scream often, like hardcore bands and stuff (hell this happened to my sister from playing soccer, and screaming)..nodes start to form on your vocal chords, ruining your voice, and making it harder to sing. once this happens you have to have surgey to remove them.

i fer one love the Used. They are the one's who got me REALLY into this type of music... actually rock in general. Bert has an awesome voice, whether screaming or singing, and they have worked hard to get out of that little town in Utah to be as big as they are now. I think they have acheived a lot.
