I read this bulletin today on myspace, not sure how many people know about it but I thought that I should post nevertheless for people who may not...basically this guy stole copyrighted songs from musicians and used them as his own while duping many many people into believing it was his own work. He has since taken the music down after receiving a lot of hate mail...
Anyway i thought that i would share, its ridiculous that this stuff can happen...
The bulletin is below in its entirety:
so... i got this bulletin from my good friend tasha about a guy who is stealing songs from another guy that another friend, tasha's husband, nathan, recorded a little while ago. the fake asshole's name is ANDREW LANDON (who has gained quite a bit of popularity, it seems) and the real guy(s) are JACOB WHITE and NOAH GUNDERSON. he's not covering them, he's straight up stealing them.

Body: This talented gent that recorded with Nathan in 2006 just sent me a message telling me about this asshole who is stealing a bunch of his songs and acting like they are his, Im working on figuring out what he ought to do about it, but meantime, please repost this, This thief has 10s of thousand of friends on his myspace page and I know those are not his songs, Nathan recorded them!!! I would love to kick this little assholes head in, Jacob is a great musician and a really nice guy.. anyway.. read this.. its unbelievable!

Came to my attention today that a fellow who calls himself "Andrew Landon" has stolen my recordings and is presenting them as his own to thousands of fans in different parts of the world

These songs are from The Staircase EP, a COPYRIGHTED piece of work which I wrote and recorded in late 2006/early 2007.
This guy also stole a song called "Winter" from a talented friend of a friend NOAH GUNDERSEN
I want to thank those who has been showing support, posting bulletins, and sending messages to various parties as my friends and I figure this situation out, especially KARLI FAIRBANKS for being the first to tell me about this guy and for spending so much time spreading the word on behalf of Noah and I (as well as the artists this person will steal from in the future).
There's a video of a girl in the Netherlands playing a cover of my song "Scarecrow," but under the impression that this is a song by "Andrew Landon.
This is very surreal.
