There is no god in these lands
But if he survived then his name would be mine
I take as much life as I save
And under an azure sky
I watched a man get filleted alive
My eyes chewed him up like they were the flies
Yeah, we all die somehow, someday
And so I have found in this place
A home to raise this mask from my face
And I am welcomed and praised for my ways
They call it the Barren Lands
And they wear their attire as if to justify
All the awful things that they did
But when the lights are off
They’re no different than I am
Its okay
We do wrong
We were taught wrong
Yeah, it’s alright
We do wrong
We were born wrong
Its okay
We do wrong
We thrive on what’s wrong
And now
We are our own God
I used to loiter around
Down at the cathedral to pretend I was like them
But what’s so normal about kneeling for a deaf man
Now, the sun is out
And it stretches across these crimson grounds
You would think He’d make more conscious decisions
But God made me
So he is no wiser than any of us
Its okay
We do wrong
We were taught wrong
Yeah, it’s quite alright
We do wrong
We were born wrong
Its okay
We do wrong
We thrive on what is wrong
And now
We are our own God
There is no freedom in these lands
They’re burning history books to help burn the corpses
I guess they forgot that God see’s everything
But still I enter his home
And he shakes my hand and turns my sins into bread
With every kill we get a little bit closer
Because the truth is God loves war as much as we do
But if he survived then his name would be mine
I take as much life as I save
And under an azure sky
I watched a man get filleted alive
My eyes chewed him up like they were the flies
