I don't find the songs to be amateurish at all, what makes you say this? Then again this may not even be a debatable topic since it's mostly about opinion...

last.fm has been rec-ing these dudes to me for a while. haven't listened yet though.

The Meadowlands is a cool record, but all the talk about the inactivity of the Wrens doesn't hold a candle to the inactivity of much better bands like MbV and Neutral Milk Hotel.

I'm referring to the mythology Pitchfork has constructed around the Wrens inactivity. They're more well-known for that than for their music it seems like.
