It has been confirmed by numerous sources that NBC's Tim Russert died today from a heart attack at the age of 58.

I genuinely feel devastated, Russert was as good as they come in the media.

Wow, such sad news. He was an incredible man who brought great integrity to a business that sees less and less of it as time goes on.

Yes. And?

First a huge blackout in downtown D.C. this morning, now this....not a good Friday the 13th.

Exceptional journalist, will be missed greatly.

Friday the 13th. Hmm... my birthday this weekend... I was born a gemini... I'll probably have pretty shitty luck.
But yeah, the guy didn't look that old, he seemed as fit as most of the news people.

Yes. And?

Right before Father's Day too. :-(

Wow. I can't believe this. I saw it on yahoo and it's just a shock. He looked so young. The media is going to miss him greatly.

This sucks. I loved his controversial Meet the Press interviews, Cheney and Rice and Powell. Great journalist.

as was one of the best (if not the best) mainstream news anchors he'll be sorely missed.

This is very sad news. He was definitely one of my favorite political commentators.

Simply the best in the business, an immeasurable loss for American political journalism.

He was quite the hometown hero, that's for sure. What a shame...

Its actually on Father's Day, but who's counting.

Yes. And?

Yeah, I'm still totally shocked. Anyone else been highly confronted with their own parents' mortality because of this, or just me?

Yes. And?
06/15/08, 02:03 PM
Definitely, because Tim was diabetic, as are both my parents, and I might be diabetic too.

Yeah. My Dad too is an overweight journalist and I'm taking solace in the fact that he doesn't work nearly as hard as TR did these days =)
