We've all got them: and not just that song by Fall Out Boy that so annoyingly catchy you physically can't get it out of your head- I mean songs by bands you severely dislike that catch you by surprise as being well-written and all around good!
Some of mine include...
All Time Low- Coffee Shop Soundtrack- Opening track of thier EP- and it is actually ace, the beginning especially just hooks me in every time... "Shooould I write myself out of the history boooks..."
Nickelback- Rockstar- seriously, who doesn't like this song!
30 Seconds To Mars- Attack & The Kill- sorry Jared Leto fans, but this band is a big steaming pile of turd (imho): but they can really turn it on when they want to stop being pretentious
My Chemical Romance- I Don't Love You- tune. Absolute tune!

There are prolly loads more, but meh, I'll add them in later!

Rockstar? seriously? one of the worst songs ever...

admittedly, I like "How You Remind Me" because it was played all the time on the radio when I was younger, and I listened to it alot haa

I think I like it so much because Nickelback spent years essentially releasing re-hashes of the same song (How You Remind Me), but then this came out of nowhere and is kind of fresh and different.

To my eternal shame, I also really really like 'Eat You Alive' by Limp Bizkit- its just an awesome, surprisingly heavy track, despite the idiotic backing track drooling "Daaaym your so HOT!" durng the post-chorus

I really, really enjoy Take This To Your Grave, The Heart Will Always Be The B-Side To My Tongue and From Under The Cork Tree, despite not caring for their garish brand of uninspired Pop Punk or their obnoxious bassist. So, you could say two albums and an EP worth of songs from a band that I don't necessarily hate (I don't have that strong of feelings for bands I don't particularly care for) but don't like in the slightest...well, beyond those three offerings...so I dig two albums and an ep out of four albums and an ep, so I like the majority of their output but don't like them...this is a ridiculous.

Fall Out Boy- Sugar We're Goin' Down.

I know that it's the reason most people hate them but to me it's just a damn catchy pop song.

Ooo i've remembered a song: 'Drowning Lessons' off of My Chemical Romance's first album- check it out, its really rather good!
I also care very little for Muse, but absolutely adore Hysteria

It's not that I hate Fall Out Boy. I don't hate any band. There are many bands I love, but if I don't particularly care for a band, I don't care enough about them or have enough invested in them to "hate" them. Conversely, Fall Out Boy is (and has always been, to varying levels) a contrived and trite Pop Punk band. They're fun, sure, and initially, they did some cool, low-fi Pop Punk in the vain of The Get Up Kids with a little Lifetime thrown in. That was cool and I dug it. They weren't necessarily good, but I'm a sucker for the mid '90s Indie Emo and Post-Hardcore/Pop Punk and some of it's descendants. When FOB sounded more like that (circa Take This To Your Grave), I really liked it.

However, I don't particularly care for the band, their "image" and what the "scenester aesthetic/ambiance" they cultivate or their current brand of music. So, while I don't "hate" them, I don't like them either, hence posting the tracks I dig by a band I don't like.

My best friend always gets pissed at me when he asks me to name a band I hate and I say I can't. Just like you said, though--if I hear something I don't particularly like, I'll stop listening. Why should I listen to enough music by a band I don't care for that it turns into that strong of a feeling against them? I could be using that time to listen to music I love.

I have a thing for a few Limp Bizkit songs (ie. "Break Stuff", "Rollin"). My cousins listened to them when I was younger so I guess it rubbed off.
