Don't know what to major in or aim for. I was planning on Computing Science, but I heard it's heavily math-based and I'm not a fan of math in the slightest. Then I was aiming for History or World Lit, but I didn't know what you could do with that. Now I'm settled on Political Science, but don't know if that is a smart choice.

I plan on attending Simon Fraser University here in British Columbia, doing the first year at SFU Surrey in either Explorations or TechOne (First-year cohort programs) and then either staying at SFU Surrey for either World Lit, Criminology, or Computing Science, or transferring to SFU Burnaby, where there's more options (like History, Political Science, etc.)

That's a link with the different areas SFU offers classes in.

I need some advice, as I'm going to have to start applying in the fall. Thanks in advance for any responses. ;)

dont worry about knowing what you want to study going in. keep your options open, you'll find what you like after taking some classes

Yeah, I agree with him. When I started college, I was so freaked out cause it felt like this is literally the beginning of my professional life and one mistake can leave me screwed for the rest of my life. You don't have to pick a major immediately, though I get why you're freaking out. Some prerequisites for certain majors can really have you gunning to make a quick decision.

You still have some time. If I were you, just relax. Who knows, you could start and not want to do any of those. Talk to some people with those majors from facebook groups or if you know someone from that school. Maybe you'll come across a math hater like yourself with that major. They can end up helping you loads with advice and maybe some study habits for later.

And also. The major you come in with is hardly the one you end up with in the end. So just have a good time and enjoy the experience. Trust me, a few months from now you'll wonder why you were so crazy over this.

Thanks for the advice. ;)

I know I'm probably getting hyped up too much over this, but regardless, I have all the pre-requistes in Grade 12 courses for every single Art and Social Science course, Business Admin, Health Sciences, Communications, Computing Science, Geographic Information Science (Geography is that), Interactive Arts and Technology, and Education I could get into once I get my Bachelor's degree in whatever. So I should probably just chill.
Thanks again!
