Wow! Internet fighting at its best? Why is it this big mystery as to why
we broke up? For gods sake, we've even posted the reasons on our website.
There's no hidden secrets here. No conspiracies. Every single band breaks up, just
as every single person dies at some point. It has to happen. People want
different things sometimes.
I'm quite sick of everyone literally believing every word they hear or
read regarding The Movielife. The Internet is an amazing thing for independent
music, but many people just turn it into a big soap opera. While The Movielife
is getting on with their lives, 6 months after their breakup, there are still
people putting the blaming on everyone else for the break up. Well, Jesus!
Blame us! It was our decision! We broke up because WE ALL wanted to break up. We
WANTED to break up. We WANTED to break up. Obviously we all miss it very
much!!!!!!!! Ok?????? It was a huge part of our lives. But we wanted this. It was
time for it to end.
Brian Lane is a good friend of ours. Whatever it was he said in his
interview is probably just the way he feels. It's his take. His view. It's not
ours. He's human. He's not a fact machine. And most importantly, he's not our
spokesman. He's a very close friend that has opinions just like everyone. Words
get mixed up and taken the wrong way. It doesn't reflect The Movielife's views
because all five of us have our very own personal reasons for wanting to break
up.
A priceless piece of advice: Stop looking so hard into every single
thing you read on a computer. Example, I read some kids post on the Internet two
weeks ago that Jesse Lacy of Brand New died. Does that means it's true???
Well.........Ladies and Gentlemen, Jesse Lacy is alive and well!!!! He lives a few
blocks away from me.
Lets clear it all up now. Jesse Lacy is alive and The Movielife split up
because we had artistic differences. Oh, but how cliche and dull??? Nothing
too juicy and controversial about that!!!! Well, guess what? That's the reason
99.999 percent of bands break up. It's all internal differences that only have
to do with the members that make the music. That's it. No more blaming
labels, the industry, emo world domination, or studded belts. Blame us!!! We love
you and miss you all dearly! But please, lets put this whole thing to rest and

The Movielife were a great band, but if they wanted to break up, let them do what makes them happy, they obviously wouldn't be giving it 100% anymore which would probably translate into bad records. Nightmare of You is a great band also, as is Head Automatica and whatever else everyone is working on.

The Movielife broke up because they wanted to, so sorry to break all their fans hearts but that is just the way it is. Heck I didn't say it, it was Movielife themselves.
So word of advice for all of you, stop bitching and stop talking trash about either them or the label and just accept the fact that they have their own life to live. They have their own thing going, they don't live for you guys. So just be human and respect that.

i'm glad to finally hear the real reason behind the break up, and i'll admit to being one of the people that blamed the label, but i think its pitiful that how after this statement is made, suddenly everyone knew that thats how it happened all along. thats the reason they argued in chat rooms and forums about the things he said were not true. its good to finally have the truth come out, but don't act like you knew all along cause the truth is, none of us did, we aall listened to the bullshit we read or heard from friends and most of us were wrong.
