"I Love You Phillip Morris" is based on a true tale. It tells the story of Steven Russell (Jim Carrey), a married conman who found himself in a Texan prison where he fell in love with Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor). Four escape attempts later Steven remains in jail for 144 years whilst Phillip was released.
I can't wait to see this.

Too bad. I can't help but feel it's because they have no idea how to market a movie about a man who comes out of the closet to a mainstream audience. Kind of a sad commentary on where America's culture is at.

What was posted, the news of the movie?
EDIT: Apologies, now I'm aware. Doesn't change anything though: they'll release the movie somehow eventually. I've changed the date on my little calendar here at work 3 times for it, it'll end up happening.
Such a shame, been looking forward to this for quite some time. Hopefully it will at least get a dvd release.

Movie was decent. Don't understand why for any reason they'd prevent the release. All though the movie itself wasn't that great I think it's so fucking awesome that it's based on a true story and that this guy was able to escape prison that many times. Some of the stuff he comes up with is amazing. Faking aids and actually being able to get away with it is just ridiculous to think about. Overall movie was decent.

Watched this last night, really enjoyed it! I thought Jim and Ewan were both great in it. Probably one of the funniest and most clever movies I've seen all year, a great non-cliche romantic comedy.
Cleavon was awesome too...
