Hmm, seeing as The Spill Canvas (http://www.thespillcanvas.com) doesn't have an official manager or booking agent at the moment, I figured they could use a little help. So, basically I am offering a contest of sorts: whatever manager, booking agent, label honcho, person-in-the-know, etc., that reads this and is able to get the band on the biggest tour - I will give a years worth of free top bar banners here at AP. Why am I doing this? Well because the whole point of AP is to help bands, and this is a band I stand 100% behind and am willing to do whatever I have to do to assure they get the attention they deserve. I feel horrible about their van set-back, and feel this is the best thing I can do to help. So .. there you have it. Make sure to check them out (http://www.bradleyfischetti.com/thespillcanvas/sounds.html) first, cause they are 100% the real deal - I wouldn't be so behind them in an unprecedented manner if they weren't - feel free to drop jason.tate@absolutepunk.net, Mineralrain@hotmail.com (Nick), or jbready2rock@hotmail.com (Joe) a line if you think you can help. I haven't felt this way about music since I first heard Brand New ... the emotion and lyrics are beyond me, and I hope we can help bring this band to the rest of 'the scene'.

Wow...I hadn't listened to them before. I am listening to The Tide and am currently convinced this is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Good call Jason.

Your evil soul is a great song. And another great one is the one that goes" The August sky will then bear witness .... " I don't have my cd case or I'd tell u the name of it. Real good CD.

the brookings show, like all spill shows, was awesome. if you are anywhere near sioux falls, south dakota, nick and the boys will be playing the washington pavillion schulte room sunday the 15th, along with nodes of ranveir, soulcrate music, rapid fusion, and more tba. the show is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and its $7 at the door. if you want to see some kick ass music be sure to show up, even if you live a couple hours away. it will be worth it.

p.s. - if we have time for tits on the road ill be sure to let you know.....biotch.

Hey, i saw Nick for the first time at the Brookings Show last night with my girl Kelcie. His voice is fucking amazing. I have to say the crowd was a bit sober, but the music more than compensated for that! I'm thinking i need to take a trip down to Sioux Falls on Sunday, sounds like it is going to be amazing. Just a note, thanks for introducing me to his music Dustin, you know where it's at!!!

ok...went to The Spill Canvas show in Brookings last night, and it was amazing. Nick played on campus which is only a few blocks from my house. I wanted to get as many people there as possible, because i want everyone to experience his music. So I had about 15 friends there watching the show with me, which was really cool. I everyone that Ive talked too so far loved it.

Anyway, the show kicked ass, Nick played some brand new songs (which sounded amazing) and some songs off his cd's. He sounded excellent, and I think he made alot of new fans last night.

Some of the guys from Nodes of Ranvier were there helping out last night, and of course my friend Scott was there with them too...Im getting really excited for the show on sunday with The Spill Canvas, Nodes of Ranvier, and Soulcrate. I feel sorry for the people that have never seen The Spill Canvas. I consider myself lucky to be from the same town, as The Spill Canvas and Nodes of Ranvier so there are always alot of local shows.

ok, ill stop now

uh...yellowcard and matchbook romance still suck like they always did...that's the kind of praise that brings the credibility of this site down and make people in power less likely to check out a decent band like this one.

yellowcard and matchbook romance sure do get undeserved hype because they are really unorginal shitty music. The spill Canvas in my opinion let me down. I heard The tide and i was blown away i thought it was awesome, but then i listen to all there other songs and nothing strikes me as special, oh well its certainly better to hype this band then it is to promote the shit out of yellowcard.

Yellow and Matchbook rock! I think yellow were way overly hyped before ocean ave here, but not Matchbook, Ill be seeing them above everyone else at warped :)
I dont really think acoustic belongs at the warped tour, but im sure others would disagree. For acoustic, The Spill album alone IS better than all DC, cant stand chris's music, awful.

I agree with Fminus, there ain't nothin original about a punk rock kid getting fed up with his punk rock music and picking up an acoustic guitar and making emo music. I like this guy better when he was called Remember Maine (hah, nobody ever talks about that guy anymore) and I liked him when he was called The Lyndsay Diaries, and I liked him when he was called Dashboard Confessional. There was some other guy who everybody loved a year or so ago, he was one of the first to put his cd up for download on the web. Bottom line, this guy's a flash in the pan.

And I still want that TBS interview.

I'm not one to put bands down, but i really feel strongly that The Spill Canvas is nothing but mediocre. Yeah, the lyrics are heartwarming, but the music is so unoriginal it bores me. I usually love acoustic stuff, but this band does not get to me like others can. I'm sure this guy can think of something a little more powerful, or at least more songs that have the edge of "The Tide".

Oh yeah and listen to Nightmare of You, God i'm loving the sardonic lyrics.

tate charges people to be apart of a "special" group on the message boards.. how rediculous is that? tate why did you sell out? i miss the blink/mxpx page.. now youve gone corporate and only promote bands that pay you the right price.. its wrong tate.. ITS WRONG
