Minus the Bear and Dillenger Escape Plan both contain strong elements of mathrock, however I would not label either band a math band.

I've had a hard time finding bands from this genre that I really enjoy, maps and atlases is one of the few. I think I prefer more melodic mathrock?
Does anyone know of any bands similar to This Town Needs Guns and Loom?

lol Maps & Atlases is so bad.
Math Rock's an easy genre where the music can just get arduous really fast. Only a couple bands do it well that I have found, mainly G?G!. Ghosts And Vodka are sometimes good and sometimes arduous and a chore to listen to. Same goes with most math rock bands.

Also, don't get why people call 65daysofstatic math rock. Or Battles for that matter.
That wiki list is terrible, hahaha. Every Time I Die? Hahaha.

Battles is a stretch. They've got so many elements to them that the only thing I way I could think of describing them would be experimental.

Yeah I don't agree with labeling them as math rock but I would understand why somebody would.

Does it always have to be fast? I always thought it pertained to odd time signatures not normally used.
